All of them ? I'd say it's as likely or more so, you have a misconfiguration in the phone, a phone fault, or something else unrelated to the inherent design of the device. If it were inherent in the phone, I'd be noticing it, I am pretty sensitive to it as I would be considered as impatient by even the most conservative standard.. It's not impossible you are correct, but it's hardly widely reported the way other known issues have been.

freitasm: Sorry, but the S5 is not perfect. It's slow to wake up, slow to boot, slow to start programs. Get another high end Android handset and after a week you will see the difference. This applies to previous models as well.

I'll try not to continue the derail too much, but just booted an S5 and HTC M8 together (both completely stock), and the difference is so small I couldn't reliably measure it... the M8 feels much nicer build quality, sure, but in terms of actual performance, there's no substantive difference in my opinion. The S5 "feels" slightly quicker in some tasks, but for most, there's no difference. I'd love to get hold of a G3 soon too, to compare.

More usefully for the thread - networkn, is the S4 set to save photos to internal SD, or an external SD card? If the latter, does setting it to internal help? I've been having a play with mine, and if I put a slower SD card in, the camera completely sucks for performance, even during actions I wouldn't think would rely on write performance. If Face Detection is On, this also seems to introduce a little lag. With using onboard SD, and face detection off, I just did some snaps on the S4 vs a Nikon P330 and Panasonic Lumix TZ40, and the S4 is faster than the P330 and almost as quick as the TZ40 (which is, incidentally, extraordinarily quick imo for a compact camera).

Otherwise, have you tried a factory reset to see if it makes a difference? I had a problem with the camera on both my S3 and Xperia V had performance issues with their cameras (albeit more quality than speed oriented) that came right with a reset.

Yes I think you have said that a lot.

The S5 is perfect, the S3 and S2 took great shots, the S4 for some reason gives us a blurry photo 5/6 times and the time it takes to focus is terrible.

Make sure stabilisation is turned off, in lower light conditions (like even normal indoors light levels) it makes it take longer to focus and it stitches together several exposures leading to blur as your hands have to be held uber still during the length of the capture.

By any chance is HDR turned on? If it is, it's taking 3 different photos and meshing them together which is why it seems slow.

If you want something to take action shots, get at least a P&S if not a DSLR. If you want casual snaps use your phone.

Probably another lame reply, but have you tried a different Camera app? Maybe Google's Camera app could make things better for you.

That said, if it's a firmware problem with the camera it won't help.
