Saw it today in Sylvia Park on Huawei stand, really looking good. Got told they will be available for sale from 12 of Dec, for $750 i think, as starting price. Good idea for Xmas! :)

I've seen it at PB Tech, nice build and looks.

That said, do not buy this phone. Read the Anandtech review for voluminous detail about why not.

Anandtech review conclusions seem somewhat inept as they seem to be more innuendo as opposed to based on substance. Just about every other review of this device I have read have been positive.

The price in NZ is circa $790 which is considerably less than other divices of its kind.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Forget the conclusions - the hard numbers speak for themselves. Poor GPU, severe thermal throttling behaviour, battery life not in keeping with the capacity, camera OK but not on a par with competing devices... There is a lot to like with the UI, build and best fingerprint reader available anywhere, but still the internals here are very compromised - far too compromised for me.

It's a shame, because if it wasn't for those things I would certainly have purchased this phone.

It may be cheaper than new stuff like the Note 4, but it's still $200 more than the LG G3 which I'd certainly take over this in light of its issues.

Well i purchased it a while ago and to be honest - i'm happy with it, maybe because i jumped to it from iPhone 4s so it is so fast and flashy for me. But i have been using LG G2 recently as well and Huawei works faster, though it's not devices to compare - just saying.
The only problem i met is the lack of cases to buy locally, found only one place on newmarket with $30 for simple transparent case, but trademe got some now.

My wife has one of these now, it is a very nice phone. The build quality is streets ahead of previous Huawei products, it looks and feels like a premium phone. It is comfortable to hold and its size makes it very easy to see and use. There is no lag when moving between screens and Apps.
She was able to connect her Plantronics headset in seconds and install all her corporate applications. She has only had it a day I hope to have a good play with it over the weekend if I am allowed.

I have one, and its great. Have not noticed any performance/heat problems whatsoever - but then I don't spend hours gaming so YMMV. For casual gaming its fine. The real boon, apart from the big screen and big battery, is the finger print scanner. It works probably 95% of the time on first try, and its makes unlocking the phone SO much easier and quicker (corporate rules dictate PIN locking as a minimum). It's position around the back of the phone also seems more natural than home button options.

We did have some finger scanner races last night between her Mate 7 and my iPhone 6+ the Mate 7 won but was calling it foul as I have a disability
