I believe  that the 16 gig model has sold out most places though I do see them on Amazon for $US 343  much makes it NZ$517 plus tax.  Getting rather expensive for a "budget' phone.

Ouch, that is not really in the budget. Hopefully they settle down once supply stabilizes.

Those US prices still look pretty good - how do we convince the Moto Maker site to let us change locations to somewhere with US pricing and international models?

I don't see how those Amazon US prices are good for a budget phone or have you found other pricing??

$219 usd on moto maker. Amazon are just charging a markup currently as they list them as in stock and most places don't have any in stock.

Not a bad price.  Wonder when we will see any NZ pricing but i suspect if the current Moto G pricing is anything to go by it will be expensive.

Looks like AU is getting the XT1550 as well. They don't have it available yet either. Flipkart (indian online retailer) only has the 8gb in stock. The 16GB has been removed from their site or is out of stock.
Seems that it should be around $340 ish for the 16GB and $300 ish for the 8GB as a price guestimate if we follow the rest of the world. If AU doesn't have it yet, who knows when NZ will get it.

I think old3eyes was referring to the opportunists on Amazon asking US $350 for the 16GB Moto G. This is opposed to the US $220 that should be charged.

I was lucky to order from flipkart when it became available as happened to be in India at the time. It cost me $306 NZD with the conversion which isn't bad.

Thats not cool. So the Aussies are paying a $70 AUD premium over the US. It also means it will probably be around $400 when it lands here. Not terrible, but not cheap either.

... I got bored of waiting and threw another $200 at a Nexus 5 screen. I didn't feel like any options in the market were as good for the money (given that I already had an N5, and even despite this being the fourth or fifth screen replacement).

Late September now and still no announce from Motorola .au

"Choose the phone that's always there for you." (For varying values of "always", including "not yet".)
