Hi

I bought the Gen2 from PBTech, they are now under $300 today. There are cheaper at other suppliers, but there was no certainty to whether they were locked or not. There is a Gen3 with dual Sim and it is on Amazon and Motorola, but neither will ship to NZ and I don't want to wait as time is no longer a luxury. I found out on closer inspection the Gen2 does have a small degree of water resistance, which is a plus and as said before, I'm not a power user and I need the dual sim functionality for the next few months. I have left the handset at home plugged in to charge up and will have a go at it tonight.

Thanks all for your help and suggestions and advice. I think for the price, it's good value even if it's missing a few MHz...

Got mine from PB Tech not so long ago Gen 2 , that has a dual sim

Okay, I've had this phone for two weeks now and my opinion is that if you ou took $280 in cash and set it on fire, the dust left behind would be better value than the handset itself.

Takes up to 5 mi utes to startup - so slow actually powering up that it goes to sleep during that boot process.

By default, falls asleep during movies, YouTube video or similar.

Takes MINUTES to switch between applications some days.

I get updates from Google store DAILY.

Predictive text might as well be for a foreign languagd, I wish I knew how to disable it.

OK Google is as useful as a five year old on dial up.

Big screen is useless when the keyboard takes 75-80% of the real estate.

What the fark was I thinking - $280....

I hoped being a Motorola phone it wouldn't have a lot of crapware, but I get HARRASED to use Motorola's various free included apps.

I'm so fuxking angry.

Don't throw your money out this way.

Have not experienced any of the issues you mentioned above.

Are you sure you've got a genuine Motorola phone? Or are you just complaining about how Android works.....

Are you sure you've got a genuine Motorola phone? Or are you just complaining about how Android works.....

Another very happy gen 1 user here, along with my wife and a couple of my friends, on my recommendation. Sounds like there is something wrong with that particular phone

A few suggestions,

Change your screen time out to about 2min or longer. (I use an app called gravity screen and use a very long screen time out)
Download and use Google keyboard.
Turn automatic updates off for your apps in playstore (Some phones you have to do this app by app)
Go into your application manager in settings scroll across to all apps and disable apps you dont use.
Clear out your app switcher frequently, you bought a cheap phone with minimal ram.
