Not sure I'd be in a hurry to upgrade to Marshmallow. Recently upgraded my son's Moto G2 which only had 8GB of memory plus a 32GB SD card, perfectly functional for storing photos and music. Marshmallow removes that functionality and allows you to use the SD card as part of the phones memory (adopted) which we tried to do. The Moto reported the SD card as being too slow, we upgraded the SD card to UHS 1 Sandisk which is also reported to be too slow. The Moto is now reduced to 8GB and the Marshmallow apps (camera and music) will not allow you to store content on the SD card which you can leave in the phone as Portable storage but I'm not too sure what it achieves, as you don't seem to be able to access it.... Very disappointed with Marshmallow...

That'd be a Moto thing, not a marshmallow thing (and therefore not a Samsung S5 thing) . I have a Sony on MM and I can store photos and music on my 64G micro SD with no problems.

Does marshmellow screw up the fingerprint unlock on the S5 - its made it unusable on my note 4 - First time after powering up it demands the password, which is annoying enouhg, but probably 3-4 times during the day it wants it claiming that it has been restarted, which it has not since its been playing spotify non stop. Usually when in the car so I have just done the engineering menu stay on when on a charger to stop it from turning off and therefore locking.

Had I known it was going to start demanding the password all the time I would not have bothered with the update.

I gave up using fingerprint unlock ages ago, drove me bonkers, never really worked properly from day 1.

Tried it again on marshmallow and still hate it. Never seems to read the print correctly.

Don't know why they bother with it really.

Just a gimmick as far as I am concerned.

I've not had any issues with this either using MM on my S5.

In theory this should work for the standard NZ phones (SM-G900F)

Re: marshmallow for S5 G900I. I have installed the international Indian version and it works just fine here in NZ. To take full advantage you do need to do a full wipe.

It'd be nice if Samsung (+ other parties) could just roll out the update to the phone OTA as expected, rather than have to do any work arounds.

I've got a Spark S5 G900i with Skinny.

I presume this will get MM from Spark or does Skinny get involved?

I'm liking Marshmellow on the S4, using Resurrection Remix. It's a bit more responsive than old ROMs, battery is better with Greenify aggressive doze and amplify, and it's kept up to date really well.
