Yup. I have a Pixel XL coming from AU at the end of the week for curiosity sakes, but the V20 seems a better all round option for me. I am bummed about the s-pen which I don't use frequently but like a lot. 

The more I've looked into this phone, the more I think it'll be the right option for me this coming year until the Note 8 arrives.

The reviews are pretty positive. xda has mostly positive feedback from current owners.

Only downside so far I can see is that the lack of a notification LED might annoy me. I have some apps to blink the LED a certain colour so if I wake at night and see the blinking, I know whether to get up or go back to sleep.

I guess I might be able to use NoLED app but a shame LG left out a very simple feature.

I had the Pixel XL which I have subsequently sold, which was an exceptionally nice device. Having said that, the LG V20 still remains, like you @caldazar my primary likely option for replacing my Note5, until the Note 8 comes out. 

I won't be buying a Note 8 until I am satisfied that Samsung have CORRECTLY identified the issue with their Note 7, and taken steps to ensure it can't happen again. 

The recent situation has done nothing to dampen my enthusiasm for Samsung devices, however the dual replacement has been inconvenient.

Reading on xda, there seems to be quite a few ex Note 7 owners who have shifted. Most appear to be pretty happy with the V20. 

The other good thing is with the V20, I get the removable battery. I have a Note 3 currently and was kinda reluctant to go to non-removable battery especially if I want to keep the phone long term. With phones specs these days they'll easily outlast the internal batteries.

I don't think I've ever had a phone fail from water and I've not been especially careful either. I'm probably just lucky but that means I'm not so worried about the water proofing. The other thing is that Samsung and Apple seem to advertise the device waterproofing as a feature but the warranty doesn't appear to cover water damage. (Although that'd make for a pretty interesting consumer guarantees dispute I am sure).

I like the look of the V20 too. I hope it becomes available here. I did see reports of camera glass cracking but I don' t know how common it is.

I read about that too but it doesn't seem to be that common. I saw a video from someone stress testing the V20 indicating glass break possibly would occur when the integrity of the glass was compromised with a large scratch. It was recommended that people leave on the glass protective film that comes applied with the phone. The film doesn't cover the lens, so it won't impact photography. They still recommended the phone and didn't see it as a major problem. If I can find the video I'll post it.

Ok here is the video. I will correct myself and it is noted that it can crack with a small scratch. Keep in mind they are using a level 7 pick to scratch the glass. It was fine scratching it with a knife.

Anyone heard if the V20 will be available in NZ on the 8th like in Australia?

Reading on Whirlpool, seems that some stores are only receiving 2 units for preorder/launch. Doesn't sound good.

LG really should be making the most of the Note 7 debacle. The fact they are not even releasing the phone in Europe at all is baffling.

Add Motorola and Google to the list of companies who don't want to sell in NZ..

It's a shame. I'm not really keen to import such an expensive device and have warranty hassles.

Leaves me with Samsung / Apple as only options. I had a Huawei phone and it's ok but meh.

Not keen on 32GB S7 Edge. I need more space.
