Smaller battery than the S8+? Seriously guys, come on.

At the expected price of close to $2k, no chance I get this.

I think the phone will be around $1499 nz. The note is always expected to have smaller battery compared to the s8+ due to the S-pen. I can see there being battery issues however due to the larger screen. No doubt the resolution is bumped down by default.

freitasm: I will be attending the Auckland launch event, this Thursday evening. Been using Huawei devices (and HTC before) so will be interesting.

@freitasm can you take a plus one? LOL. I want to see it so much!

The 10 Minute version on engadget was awesome. I was impressed. I can't wait for this phone to get here. If it's $1500, I'll almost certainly be upgrading my S8+.

I don't think so... Although I am sure some people do it.

I'm enjoying the Galaxy S8 plus and probably won't change that this time round. If the Note 9 looks good next year then possibly.

I've not found the software any more bloated than iOS really. The latest version seems pretty good.

Love that Samsung is discounting the phone for people in the only country affected by the note 7 fiasco....

Yea probably not far off. Ya know the phone is considerably bigger this year, wider and taller than the note 7. Not sure i am a fan of that. I think id much prefer getting the note 7 FE.

I'm gonna make a call and say there is next to no chance it would be cheaper here than Australia. I do think however, that there will be a price break for those who owned a note 7. So I'd say $1699 for Note 8 and $1499 if you had a Note 7.

At $1500 I'll buy it, at $1700 I (probably) won't.
