Give the update a go. Otherwise collect 3 examples and call in. (Or chat!)

I've been working pretty closely with the folk on our end that handle theses cases (the backend handling). They are very much in agreement that 5 is excessive.

jeffnz:
Hi guys have an annoying issue since the Oreo update whereby I am dropping some calls but just when I am at home. I show 2 bars on phone and it doesn't seem to fluctuate at all.
I am on the Spark network
I updated to Oreo from Sammobile, knox is still intact.

When you say "I am dropping some calls but just when I am at home" . Do you mean you are talking on the phone and the call drops off while talking ? or is it you are missing calls at home as the phone is not ringing ?

Also the 2 bars of coverage. Is this 4G or 3G.

If it is a case of 2 bars of 4G and you are missing calls while at home, as in the phone is not ringing then later you get miss call notification, turn WIFI off and see if the issue still happens, that's if your issue is as just described.

Just had a sizable customer report this issue with numerous S8s running 2d software on the Spark network. Sending them a Spark-sourced S8 to test, as this will determine whether the issue is the network or the software. If the new device shows the same issue, it's on Spark to sort. If not, it's on Samsung.

This is different from the other issue - wherein miscellaneous Snapdragon 835 devices which have not been certified for use in NZ are unable to fall back to 3G on Spark and therefore pipe calls straight to voicemail - as the local S8s use Exynos chipsets. That said, they may both be due to the unique network configuration Spark uses.

Thanks for the update. As I have been delaying the upgrade to Oreo on my S8+ because of this issue. I will now go ahead with the update.
