Dingbatt: Having re-read your first post again. Can you just confirm it is crashing Android on your TV when you play NF or YT on your PS4? Or is it crashing the PS4? (Both Sony products, but probably just a coincidence). I'm assuming it's just the TV.

Even on my LG TV (running WebOS), the Netflix app doesn't play nice all the time. After a while of watching it ignores IR commands and will only respond to the 'Magic Remote' wireless signals. So maybe the developers of the Netflix apps need to have a look at their coding. Might be worth dropping a line to the developers of the Netflix App for Android if that ends up being the source of the problem.
Even though it comes with the TV, and may even be baked into OS, Sony will probably say it's not their problem if it is the app.

It's crashing the TV. The TV boots back up as if a factory reset has been done, but I dont lose any settings.

I haven't had a chance to test the TV this weekend so I haven't been able to do some of the suggestions on here.

Hi myndlyz,

If you bought the TV in May, and after what you have done and to check if its not a Hardware Issue get it swapped out by Noel Leemings. I don't have an Android TV but I'm assuming when you setup the New TV all your Apps will re-download like a phone ?

If its still happening you will also know its an issue with OS / TV itself with the Apps again not your problem.  The choice should be then with you  to work around the issues or change to a different TV.

FYI - I'm using a Tizen powered Samsung and it just works, then if you want the ability to use Android on your TV you could get one of those Media Boxes e.g. Xiaomi Media player they are cheap.

Hey guys

Just wanted to give an update on this one.

I ended up contacting Noel Leeming as all the troubleshooting I did didnt resolve the issue. They put me in contact with Sony Australia, the agent that rang me got me to do a hard reset of the TV, she also sent me an email advising to reply back to the email if the issue persists, next day the issue came back, so I emailed back and this time a Sony tech visited my house, he replaced the motherboard and at the time I thought the issue was fixed.

As he was leaving, he gave me his phone to rate their service, I was happy as I thought the issue was fixed, gave a 10/10. That same afternoon TV crashed, and has crashed everyday since. Escalated again to Noel Leeming, same tech came out, and this time rather than showing him videos of the crashing, it was happening while the tech was there, everytime he tried to do something, the tv crashed. He said he will report back to Sony Australia, I asked if he can request a replacement, he advised he will try but no guarantees.

A few days later I got a call from Sony Australia, they offered to fix again or replace, when I asked what fix they will do this time, they said they will replace the motherboard, I said they already replaced that. So they called back and said they will replace the TV. And since that TV is no longer in stock, they are replacing it with the 2018 version of that TV.

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to give you guys an update, got some really helpful information from you guys on here, so thanks for all the help.

TLDR - Sony TV from NoelLeeming is faulty/crap- Sony replacing with a brand new 2018 TV
