Ambrose_1: How are you using the app at countdown? I tried scanning the barcode on the part you scan the grocery's and nothing happened? Are you supposed to do it on the terminal?
Doesn't work at the Self-Checkouts Machines (apparently they are looking into it) but if your at a Checkout with an operator, you just give your phone to them with the barcode open and they swipe it for you (or has been in my case).
Hi team,
What's the latest on this topic, 4 years on.
Is the best option Google Wallet, StoCard or something else?
A google search doesn't provide anything convincing either way.
Current cards are:
Lesser used but would make sense to add:
I'm guessing Snapper needs to remain on it's own card? Or can that work from the NFC on the phone also?
For Countdown, I was able to use Google Wallet, but now it no longer works but is fine via their own app.
New World, Subway, EB and Flybuys works fine for me via Wallet.
So still no standard/common method.

As a FOSS alternative to Stocard I use Catima (F-Droid or Play Store). Works perfectly for any barcode card replacement, and this way no one is profiling my purchase habits or targeting me with advertisements.
As an update, I went with Google Wallet.
All cards loaded. Have tested the regularly used ones successfully.
Also, despite suggestions that Countdown OneCard wouldn't work on the app, I found that it did for me today. The self scan terminal picked up the barcode happily. The headsup earlier in the thread about getting the Onecard number vs the SmartFuel number was heeded.
I'm surprised that Countdown hasn't followed their Australian parents. The 'Everyday Rewards' card for Woolworths supports both NFC and barcodes from Google/Apple Wallets.
