Headphone jack is supposedly gone-burger, battery size looks to be comparable with S10.

Was thinking of upgrading to note 10 from my note 8 which looks like no more updates as last security update to April 2019 and also finger print scanner sometimes getting unresponsive, still a very good phone. On leaks for note 10 battery looks better, no headphone jack port i can live with as always use Bluetooth headphones but don't like phone notch for camera and size if there is two models smaller 6.3 model looks ok size but reading some comments on forums about there being no sd card slot on this model and only on larger 6.8 inch size. I had note 2 note 4 then skipped note 5 because no sd card slot then 3 combustible note 7 and then note 8 so looks like i'm going to have to look for different phone if these rumours are true. I still like spen use all the time so changing phones would be hard to find replacement with pen so if note 10 not suitable size too big 6.8, no sd card 128 gb on phone too small, notch don't like and price getting expensive all bonus offers nothing that i would need. Samsung A80 looks good all screen and on front fingerprint and sound sensors no notch but rotating camera not sure of, maybe testing for Note 11 .Unless rumours are not true i might have to keep using my note 8 and wait and see what happens with note 11 another year.

That price, Jesus its going to be more expensive than the iPhone. Was going to get it, but they've ruled that for me. Will wait for the mate 30 Pro

Official details and "pre-registration" here. Still no talk of NZ pricing, but you can bet the + will set a new bar. Looks like Aug 23 is the on sale date?

Specs and hands-on review here. And a nice write-up from Anandtech here.

Mostly as expected/leaked, but damn that + is a big-ass phone. I am curious about how size of the regular version translates, even if it looks like it is turning into the poor cousin of the line-up. Buuutttt, nothing to make me want to dump the 9 just yet.

Interesting side note, looks like a minor process node upgrade for the CPU using EUV. Hopefully that translates into some nice power efficiency gains.

Looking at how aggressive they have been getting with the S10 (and others now), I wouldn't be surprised if there was a few post-launch BOGO deals or discounts. But yeah, maybe not right away unless they go nuts with pre-order bonuses or trade-in discounts.

This.

The Note 10 doesn’t feel flagship with the 1080p screen, and the + is too damn high

Yes. I think they’ve made a mistake with the nomenclature. Should be the Note 10 and the Note 10e because the larger is actually the flagship phone and the smaller is the ‘compromise’ one.

Edit: Will be great if the DeX to computer feature is made available on the S10 (won’t hold my breath).

Yes I just got the AU pricing.

Which was the NZ pricing for the note 9.
So expect $200 more on top of last year

Am I being thick here - other than the pen (shrug?) why would anyone get the standard 10 over the 10 Plus?

I got mine $500 off for the 512Gb version and it has:

  1. Higher res screen
  2. Bigger battery
  3. SD Card slot and more base storage at that price

.

No, I was thinking how close their product stack has grown with the bifurcation of the Note line as well.

You are paying a premium for the pen really, which I can't see a whole lot of users who want it so much they will pay more for lesser specs than the S10.

Again unless they do massive discounts, I don't see them shifting many units.

I got a Note 9 about 2 months ago when it was cheap, $950 or something. It’s one of the better phones I’ve owned for sure. I’ll be grabbing one of these I think!

Looks like samsung are still concidering what to bring in and have a pre registration thing on their website, not a preorder like previous years.
