10s, 10s, 10s, 10s across the board!

Well since they have made it official, might as well kick off the baseless rumors and pointless speculation...

Anybody heard any interesting features or thinking about going for one?

Interesting that they appear to be going for a two-step (three with 5G) approach with the 10 and 10+.

Also disappointing to see the battery capacities are largely the same, but probably hoping for too much for Samsung to take a risk with a new battery tech on a Note product.

Most obvious area they need to make inroads with is zoom photography, followed by quick-charging to try and catch-up with Huawei.

I have seen rumors about higher speed Fast Charging, so potentially that is where they are focusing their efforts instead. I am pretty happy with my Note 9 battery life, so that would be a nice bonus.

Interesting, I hadn't heard about next gen camera sensor improvements. Any more info on that? I see more rumors about a time of flight camera and three stage apertures, but nothing about zoom photography though.

I also see they have finally fallen in-line with most other OEMs by removing the headphone jack...

I'm happy with my S10+.

Cameras are never an important factor for me, since I rarely use them for anything serious. Battery life and charging speed are far more useful things to me than cameras. I had a Note 8 and eventually realised that I just did not write on it etc as I thought that I would, so went back to the S series.

I assume the Note 10 will have similar features to the S10? Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and triple cameras? I hear that the 3.5mm headphone jack is going away which is quite sad.

I made a mistake selling my Note 9 for the S10, as the Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is very unreliable for me.

Hopefully there will be a significant price drop on the Note 9 when the Note 10 hits.

Under-screen sensor, not sure yet if it ultrasonic, but I would assume so. Quad cameras apparently, including a ToF sensor. And yes, no headphone jack.

Sucks to hear about the fingerprint sensor, and funnily enough I was actually thinking of doing the same thing. I love my Note 9, however (predictably) I'm not using the pen beyond the occasional remote-selfie and after handling a few S10s, I much prefer the form factor to the Note 9. Hopefully they do another BOGO S10 deal.

Is there anything else you have noticed going Note 9 -> S10?

Was always planning on jumping to the Note 10 from the S10+, I miss my s-pen, but if the camera rumor is true then I will hold off until the 11.

If recent history is anything to go off, then holding off from buying at launch as retailers may likely gut the price out of it not long after like they did with the S10 , the resale market gets flooded with phones people want to move for a quick buck.

Unless of course you want the bundled goodies which of course the market gets flooded again. If xchange mobile do a sweet deal like the Note 9 launch (double) then I'll jump all over this.

I found the launch day deals on the Note 9 to be not too bad, 2degress had $300 off w/ Wireless Duo charger. Certainly there were better deals with the S10, but I guess the Note series is a bit niche.

Since there have been a few BOGO deals with the S10, maybe they will swing one for the Note 10 with an S10 or something along those lines?

Some official renders have surfaced, as well as some measurements. It has a weird boxy look to it that I am not sure I like, but then again I have been kinda turned off the Note form-factor after the Note 9.

Looks like even though they are going 3.5-less, you will still get some wired buds though.

I'm looking to the Note 10 as a replacement for my S7Edge. I quite like the stylus on my Tab4, so I'd like to get a phone with one too. I'm also keen on a larger screen, bought a cheap phone to test out the large format and am happy to carry a phone with well over 6" screen.

To me the camera is fairly important, 90% of the time the only camera I have with me is the one on the phone - so the more useful that phone camera is, the better.

Well according to a certain Samsung cat, much isn't changing, so i imagine the S10s camera performance is a reliable indicator. My note 9s camera is solid, but not really stand-out, and I imagine the S10 is the same.

Not that you really need it in this case since the performance is so similar, but GSM Arena's comparison tool is pretty good as well. I like the reliability of Samsung's recent camera implementation and never had an issue with the photo quality. All of my photos from recent trips away have just been with my Note 9 and it has never let me down. Unlike my Nexus 5x, which was somewhat temperamental. The only complaint I have is the night performance softens the crap out of photos, but the new night (low-light would be more accurate) mode has improved this some.

They always are, but you kinda have to draw a line and go for it, otherwise it will always be waiting for the next thing. The Note line seems to be about refinement and using mature tech, which I would rather than sh!t breaking all the time.

Coming from an older (and now barely supported) phone, I think you will get a nice upgrade.

From what I have seen of the last couple of iterations, S vs Note lines seem to be Samsung's version of Tick-Tock. S introduces the new chipsets, cameras etc, Note reuses and refines them plus adds a few productivity oriented flavors, which I guess fits the respective target audience. I bought mine because I wanted reliable and mature tech (and I vastly over-estimated for much I would use the pen).

But you're right, the deals they have been turning out for the S10, they are gonna have to do something if they want to get the punters in and shift meaningful units. Maybe they will eventually do some BOGO deals to clear out S10s before the S11? I also would imagine they will do the usual big trade-in discounts plus lots of free crap/pre-order bonuses at launch.

At least there are colors that remind me of the Duraseal for school books, so thats something I guess?
