Doh! That's what happens when I try to read and reply while out walking!

That's not a bad idea to bulk buy, and a pretty good price; my biggest concern, though, is the lack of warranty and CGA coverage. (I've moved in the last few years to buying NZ-sourced phones, just to avoid this risk.)

I was being a bit facetious but shop and ship is a reasonable option if you can't source locally. With GST I guess you'd look at $690 landed

If CGA is important to you then you should absolutely buy locally.

What is Oxygen OS like? Ive never owned a OP.

But I like the screen specs for the price and the newer 765 SoC is excellent at battery consumption and increased FPS, slightly better than the 730 in CPU power.

The camera sensor is an older IMX586 but at least it has the 4 main lenses.

It has plenty of Ram.... whats not to like or I should be aware of?

Looking around the $500-700 mark to replace one of our phones in the family, I do prefer the form factor of the Pixel 4a and s10e, but the Pixel battery life is pretty horrid, the s10e is hard to find the SD855 version to import. The nord has the 90hz screen. Is that display refresh or touch refresh rate? touch refresh is what makes a screen faster to swipe etc, much like it cuts down lag of a stylus on a tablet,

ie the new tab 7+ has an amoled screen and now has a faster touch refresh so its now as quick as the Ipad Pro, plus the screen looks better and has a "normal" mouse experience vs the IPPro.

If you're used to Samsung OneUI etc., I think you'll find that Oxygen OS is lacking a few niche features, but in general it's a clean and fast ROM with a consistent UI.

That's all marketing. Two of the lenses are practically useless.

The Pixel 4a battery life is inferior to the Nord, yes, but it does not have bad battery life. Perhaps you're getting it confused with the Pixel 4 (non-a)?

The nord has the 90hz screen. Is that display refresh or touch refresh rate?

90Hz display refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate.

I think their pages talked of delivery from 10 Oct. I hope this doesn’t indicate they’ll not be stocking it at all, just after my wife confirmed she wants one!

Yep, likely to go with NL... Pity they only provide one year warranty vs two at PB. That said, if the alternative is waiting six months then that's a compromise I may have to accept..

Finally pushed the button and ordered my wife a Nord off The Market - weird, as I'd checked last week and while it was listed on the NL site, it wasn't on The Market.

Anyway, the Market's doing $50 off purchases over $500, and with free shipping (last day of my free membership!) that meant a cost of $729, which is not too bad...

Feel slightly ripped off with NZ prices. Its $600AU from AmazonAu. But they wont ship to NZ.

It would have been ideal at $620-$650 price point as a mid ranger.

Still thinking about it..... uggh.

Just bought mine from Noel Learning and it comes with the original Warp Charger. I think they just say that there's no overseas charger to cover their bases.

I was using this and along with a 4a to see what I would like to keep in the foreseeable future - and ended up going with the 4a due to a few things:

4a gets software updates and security patches the quickest
Nord only has a mono speaker which bothered me more than I thought
90hz didn't do it for me as much as I wanted to
4a has a headphone jack
Wanted an overall smaller form factor in the end.

Will miss Warp Charge though.

There's nothing bad about the screen really, it was more of preferring what the pixel 4a provided, it's still a great phone to have, just not for me.

Looking for around $725 or nearest offer - comes with extras that would make it close to $800 overall.
