Basically Apple manufacture the hardware, and write the software its managed by them end to end so it just works

Want to be sure you have a device that will work with VoWifi and VoLTE anywhere in the world? Stick with an iPhone

Absolutely. There's no way I would want to spend more than $500 on a phone, let alone well over a grand.

Then you run the risk of not having guaranteed VoLTE / VoWiFi, and while you may get it to work in NZ with one sold by an official carrier, when travel opens up and we can travel again it may not work at your destination.

I know iPhone is not for everyone but its the only way to guarantee VoWifi and VoLTE working on any network anywhere in the world on any carrier

The reverse is here when travel opens up and international android roamers cant make calls here

That's fine. Thanks. I get pretty good reception with my current provider where I am, but would need a VoWiFi handset should I switch to the Vodafone network.

iPhone SE 3 first quarter will support 5G at NZ$750. Resale value is good if you don't keep it too long. But yeah very silly situation world wide. You know it's bad when Google's flagship phones somehow don't get 5G or LTE.
