Mmmm...the new Asus Zenfone 9 is getting good reviews on YT but might be a bit of a long shot in terms of availability and support for NZ 5G/VoLTE/VoWiFi

Yeah, I had planned on mentioning the same phone. Price may also be an issue, noting OP's OP says a budget of $500-750?

A friend of mine has just asked about something similar. Prefer $500 or less, second hand is ok, doesn't need huge specs, but must be small enough to fit in her pockets.

I've slowly got used to the screen increases moving through the Oneplus 3T, 5T, 6T and now 8T. But I do miss not having the take the thing out of my pocket every time I sit down.

Is there nothing around 5" anymore ? Even 2022 reviews for compact phones are including 6.2" screens. When did 6.2 become compact ?

iPhone SE is about it. There's a new Asus that's not huge, but it's expensive.
