Companies separated out in 2020 following the US ban. They're their own entities now.

To think Samsung and Apple/Google are ANY different than a Chinese company is stupid at best, deluded at worst. America already openly telling the word they're reading everythin on your mobile device.

I reckon in my time I've seen in the wild about 6, maybe 7 foldables being used by people?

Every. Single. One. had a munted screen in some way.

I mean, I can't talk, I dropped my P7 and it's got a munted screen now.

But foldables just seem to be prone to muntitus.

I've been using my Samsung Fold5 for ~2 years and it's still in pristine condition. Haven't had any issues with my Fold4 either. Then again, I take good care of my devices in general. But yes, foldables are more delicate than normal devices - especially Samsungs - most people don't realise that it isn't dust proof (which can get under the hinge/display and wreak havoc) and don't take appropriate precautions. Obviously not suited for everyone.

The PR folks came back. VoLTE is enabled for all operators in New Zealand, but VoWiFi is coming with an update early next year.

That's awesome, thanks for confirming.

Have they given any indication on future releases? i,e,. the Magic 8 Pro, the rest of their tablet line up and top end watches?

The general NZ public only knows Samsung and Apple, maybe Motorola and Oppo, for us geeks we know/have heard of Honor, majority will not so they need to build a brand reputation and awareness which is a long term game.

IMHO Honor is testing the NZ water with releasing two devices and see how they go before committing to releasing more devices.

Just a FYI for those wanting VoWiFi while waiting for the update... Pixel IMS works and it is persistent after a restart.

Tested on Magic OS 9 and 10

damn it Honor, I was happy with my V5; why you gotta go and make the V6 look so bloody sexy. Hopefully it's coming to NZ sooner than the V5 did vs it's original launch.

Funny you say that! I went to pick up my V5 from Noel Leeming yesterday after a warranty job because of 2 lines that appeared overnight. I swear I babied this phone for the 2 months I had it! Only to find they gave me a brand new one instead. It's still boxed up. I'm wondering if I can use it on a trade in for the V6... 🤔

Anyone else just not getting any software updates for this thing? I've had one the entire time I've owned the device and I'm still on December security match.
