Gollam: Just got my new Magic from Voda NZ - took about two days but out of the blue said system update available - now on 1.6

Still cannot sync to MS outlook though #$%&@ - anyone found a good app to do this

Don't want to havre all my stuff up on Google !!


Missing Sync, some features are there, and more are to be added. - I have all my stuff up on Google even on my blackberry, I love it.

Had a look at the app - may be good in the future, but I am realy looking for an app that will sync mail, contacts, and cal like the palm desktop which I had for my Treo

Have tried the Sync Server from Avamboo.de which seems to work well, but for contacts only though

Guess that I will keep looking...

Have a look here.  HTC Support.


Also, some of the alternate ROMs have Exchange ActiveSync up and running. You may want to use one of those until they roll it out on a standard release. Check the ROM detail matrix at www.androidspin.com

Took a look at the HTC site when I was first looking at the phone - unfortunatly the Google branded Magic does not come with the HTC Sync software on the phone, and I cannot find an app to install to support HTC Sync on the web.
Looks like the Google branded Voda Magic is trying to force you to have all of your contacts, calender etc via Google on the web - which the phone supports syncing with...
