I got one of these (below) - works perfectly, no regrets.  I don't quite understand peoples complaints about them
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Mobile-phones/Accessories/Cases-protectors/Other/auction-288382980.htm

Also just received my super cheap car cradle:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Mobile-phones/Accessories/Car-kits/auction-289541095.htm

Its not so 'high quaility' as stated but should do the trick fine I reckon till i get the courage to buy a bodit one!

pih: Try Phantom Skinz - can't speak highly enough of them, and just google for the latest discount code.  They supply two skins shipped for less than a single Zagg and I found it (strangely) easier to apply and much better quality.

Would love to mate, alas Phantom Skinz does not have a kit for the Desire. They reckon they can't get hold of a unit to build on, and actually offered to fit my phone with a full-body kit if I send it in! Would love to but can't do without a phone!

Ha, the screen protectors are what I bought off Ebay (although way cheaper than that) and I have one of the car cradles, and its just fine. As you say maybe not the highest quality in the world but does the job.

dpw & kiwitrc > if we all hate our Zagg's after a week or so, maybe we can do a bulk order of Phantom Skins (to save on shipping) and see if they are any better.  hopefully they will have a Desire template by now!

I personally would prefer no protector at all, but don't want to suffer from scratches!

I guess one could compare it to a condom, feels much better without it on, but you don't want to be without protection! :)

I'm keen but not holding my breath. I've been checking PS website regularly but no updates. I don't know how Zagg & others managed to create their templates but PS is obviously not making any effort to get hold of a Desire. It really feels like they're waiting for a phone to fall into their lap! I also noticed on their website they group their phones by carrier - if that's the case the Desire as it stands won't work in the US (correct me if I'm wrong), and won't be supplied by any carrier!

No screen protector here, no scratches (and same with my i8910 which I had for six months, and my HD2 for nearly 5months, which both also have capacitive screens).

Unless you must keep you phone in pockets with sand/keys it should be alright!

I picked up one of these. Perfect fit (it's adjustable) and does landscape and portrait as the clamp swivels. Available from Harvey Norman, JB HiFi etc

Wow - that one looks nice and elegant! These are not a requirement though, especially in a rattly Hiace diesel van! How much did that cost, if you don't mind me asking?

No issues with stability as yet (touch wood) but the clamps are adjustable and have nice rubber pads that are placed well to hold the device in place. I think about $35, it was last week and I can't remember.

Hold My Phone in Aussie is who I use for all my car cradles/kits at work. They ship direct to me in Auckland, usually overnight:

JellyWeb: I do feel safe with it though,  I feel like i can rub my keys on the screen without fear!  I won't try that though, especially since it has only been on for about 10 hours and it needs a full 24 to cure and harden properly!

Alrighty...'tis been over 24 hours now...what do you think of it now? Has it really smoothed out all the bubbles and such, as it says in the instruction?

Mine has just arrived so I will be installing it tonight...maybe...unless I get impatient and start installing here at work around lunchtime!
