My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
freitasm: And is this comparison the one using the maps I posted in my blog?

I've been on Geekzone over 16 years..... Time flies....
turnin: consider, Blackberry , Nokia, Apple and Windows phones don't use a universally free operating system.
Thats the attraction to Android. The apps and ideas come from developers who see that (even if they hate google) love the fact that Android does to some extent help standardization amongst the industry.
turnin: Android can multitask, you know, like washing dishes and vacuuming floor, some other phones just do one thing at a time.
turnin: Android has Flash , so you can watch video, some manufacturers have excluded flash, one of the few successful attempts of standardization.
turnin: A quick demonststration of Layar, skymap, voice search, all the cool stuff and had links to some video, and a ticker showing how many android phones are being connected daily. Thats showing people what the phones and system can achieve but then I don't work for Saatchis or Telecom. Pity, nice paper wasted.

None of those points were mentioned in the flyer, just glossy phones. better than nothing but if I can't tell the difference between an apple and an orange, then someone has to explain it to me. The brochure doesn't.

And showing a video is cool for the geek in us, but a lot of people would look at that and think "Why?"

Perhaps I should have said open source
Yes but apple have only just lifted such restrictions and could, and it wouldn't surprise me if they did, decide to restrict again.
And here lies something. In Windows Phone 7 the multitask is there, but managed. When an app is the background it's frozen, and a thumbstone is created pointing to all its information, so it can restart exactly where it was left before.
My car has a reverse gear but I wish it didn't because it runs over children.
Multitasking needs to be handled carefully, totally agree, yes my phone does run background apps and slows down as a result, but thats an issue for developers and consumers, the point it the system CAN multitask, something expected by todays users.
Only the newer versions, ( we are talking about NEW phones here) not many devices running Android 2.2 at the moment. Also none of the devices in New Zealand are officially running Android 2.2 so any mention of this in the advert would be misleading.

28.7% worldwide run 2.2, I can't think why were still selling antiques running 1.6.turnin: A quick demonststration of Layar, skymap, voice search, all the cool stuff and had links to some video, and a ticker showing how many android phones are being connected daily. Don't agree, people buy phones based on emotions and they like to have some validation behind their beliefs. My point here has perhaps been lost. Showing nice pictures of a phone isn't enough to sell it these days.

Instant Rule of Thumb: Roughly 10% of us live in the future. Another 10% live in the present. The rest live in what what we see as the past....but it's their present and they see no other.
