ClockworkMod / ROM Manager failed me :(

I choose to wipe cache / backup ROM etc, and when the phone reboots into ClockworkMod there's a little android and a big exclamation mark triangle!

I press the power button and I'm given these options:

- reboot system now
- apply sdcard:update.zip
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- install zip from sdcard
- backup and restore
- mounts and storage
- advanced

and the script at the bottom says:

ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.7
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to seek in /cache/update.zip (Invalid argument)
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

So I clicked on reboot system now and go back to the standard HTC Sense I had before!

Oh crap. :(

There is an option to toggle signature verification. Try that

Not sure which option it is under but have a look.

Maybe the ROMs don't have signatures??

I don't know enough about these things to say for sure. I just know I had to turn off the signature verification to get my LeeDroid installed.

haakuturi: Does this look right to you Kiwi1971?

Yes that is the exact screen I used when installing my custom ROM. I read in the installation guide that I needed to toggle it to off or whatever makes it ignore the signature verification state.

*sigh*

Well that didn't work either. I toggled the check for signature verification which was fine.

Then when I went to apply the update.zip it failed because it couldn't access sdcard/update or something.

Frack it, I'll just stick to base SenseUI. Is there a way to un-root my phone, or is it just better to leave it as it is now?
