Capacitive is the way. Resistive = having to apply 50% more pressure on the screen to register.

I have had the Tab for 2-3 days now and I have realised something - I need a separate mobile phone, haha:D

It's just too big to carry around as the primary mobile phone. For example, you need to clear your hands of everything, where would you put your Tab? So I am going out to see what mobile to get now.

Great battery life too FYI - lasts the entire day without any problems and can easily last 2 days with moderate use.

Can you post some pics?

How are the apps? My gf has an iPad and one thing I find is there are a lot of apps designed to target the iPad. The iPad apps offer nice features over iPhone based apps as they use the extra screen real estate well. I suspect the Galaxy tab won't have that many apps designed specifically for it. Am I right?

Where did you pick up the Galaxy tab from? How much was it?

Am considering this or the Archos 70 which has just been released.

If I ever get a tab, [and I can't see it any time soon] I think I would want at least 10" otherwise it is just too close to being a large phone. Also it would be easier to use like a PC with an on-screen keyboard that isn't too compact. I have a 10.1" netbook which is about as small a keyboard as I can handle at any sort of speed.

I saw a 1.66ghz ViewSonic one this week that is coming out with a dual Win 7 and Android boot [Albeit an older version of Android] which interests me more than just iOS or Android.

I prefer to have something that will run more than one app at a time.

I love my Droid and the software but wouldn't particularly want it as a 10" tablet as it is pretty limited.

Archos are also doing the 10.1" tablet which is due out any day. I find the 10" is quite similar in size to my exising laptop which is touch screen so was looking for something smaller and more portable to fill the gap between my phone and the laptop...

As a phone, I'd have a "Tab bag" over my shoulder or attached to my belt and use a bluetooth headset. But the Tab would need Android v2.2 in order to support full voice-driven calling without touching the device.

I am thinking the other way, that the 7" is just too close to my phone size and for viewing, it is not a big enough size improvement and I want something more like my Netbook
I just feel that if I have to make the effort to carry something around in a special case or bag that is bigger than my phone I might as well carry a 10" - 10.1" tablet and do more with it than I can do on my phone.

Not saying I would turn down a 7" if it was given to me but it doesn't currently show on my purchase radar. Sad to say I am with Steve Jobs on this one. the 7" market could possibly be DOA. Especially with phones getting bigger screens.
I thought the iPad was tiny when I saw one in JBHifi. I guess people just have different needs from these devices, I want a large screen with a nicely spaced keyboard so I can use it like a netbook and watch video at a reasonable size. Or maybe the 7" market is aimed at people who still have phones with relatively small screens.

seconded - been waiting for this since forever like i guess everyone else - problem is the Tab is complete and ready to go - but rohan and the team seem to still be developing the Adam discussing functionality and whatnot - at the rate its going it feels like Honeycomb might be released by the time they are ready. which may be a good thing for the device in terms of an OS optimised for tablet form, but meanwhile its another 8+ months away... and the market is slipping away.
