"On that note... I wish there was more control over data usage - ie. tell apps not to download stuff over 3G data." There is an app for that! I've seen it I just can't fugging remember what it's called :S

Have just rooted the phone using z4root. Easy stress free process.

Currently looking for Swype. Anyone has?

Guess i shouldn't be so vague :P
That version or download didn't work. Once successfully installed, there was no alternative input method available nor was there any new items in the launcher or the settings menu.

Firstly - I would recommend Launcher Pro to anyone on android, speeds up the main screen greatly.

Secondly - Does anyone have a issue with screen responsiveness? My IDEOS from DSE has a intermittently unresponsive left edge of the screen, going to return it but waiting for the Christmas rush to die down. Unfortunately they said it'll take a month for them to look at it =/.

Anybody got the gingerbread keyboard properly working on the ideos?
ProduKt, if you can knock together a guide to install Lag fix, I've got the apk I'll upload as a package with the guide?

Battery life is fine for me. I used the phone regularly thruout the day sending up to 8 txt's or so a day and playing a game or taking photo's etc

I get just under and sometimes over 2 days out of the battery; Here's what i've done

Started by Rooting the phone using z4root then
Installed setCPU and set up profiles like so

* Screen Off 122 min 320 max powersave,  priority 80 (When screen is turned off CPU is locked down in speed to save battery)

*Charging USB/Full 600min 600 max Performance, priority 75, For when it's plugged in or battery level morethan 20%

*Battery lessthan 15% 122min 245 max powersave, priority 65, This is slow down mode, phone is still usable but hell laggy and my own testing showed it increased battery life before phone turnoff by 40mins on average (with usage!)
And finally

* Temp = morethan 40.5*c 122 min, 122max ondemand, priority 60. Did this incase it gets left in the sun, or in a hot car or whatever. Left it in the sun the other day and i got OS warnings that the internal temp was too high and it wouldn't do certain things :P

Then i installed Y5 BatterySaver.
It turns off the wireless when you leave a known wireless hotspot location that you can connect to like home for example. Just tell it where those spots are and while travelling it'll turn wifi off. Handy!

Current battery use stats:
21hr33m38s since unplugged
Android system 84%
Cell Standby 10%
Phone Idle 6%
Battery Level currently 37%

Hope this helps?
*edit i'm so not gonna get 2 days out of this charge but it varies wildly :P

I've done as you've done with setCPU and definitely improved, does the OCLF help with that?
