fallen: Good to hear that you have successfully installed Navigon. I have been using it for a while, now need to get a dash mount for the car....

I'd bought one back in September and never put it in the car.  After getting Navigon I finally got around to putting the mount on and it works brilliantly.

Already have the dash mount in the car, was using the GPS on a Nokia 5800 when I was in areas unknown. Now that I have what looks like a decent GPS on the phone, I can sell my Nokia :)

One more question though, does it have voice inbuilt or do I have to spend money and buy the sound and fun package?

Voice is built in. Mine is defaulted to British accent, haven't figured out how to change the voice to another accent..

Where did you buy the dash mount from? I am looking at getting one from Deal Extreme

Some of the others on the Galaxy S I9000 have mentioned buying theirs from the place you've listed.  I hadn't been participating in the group at that time to ask for advice/opinions.  I bought mine off ebay.com.au from a Hong Kong based seller.  Mine is the official Samsung one.

I bought a generic airvent mount from trademe. They tend to all have these large loops for holding all manner of devices of different sizes and depths but it was fairly simple cutting them flush with the front of the phone.

This is the perfect position for viewing and for accessibility for me. I can't stand the suction mount ones that partially obsure what you see out the windscreen.
As someone mentioned in the other thread though, in winter I'm going to have to ensure I don't cook my phone with the heater on.

All up it was $13 delivered so I had no concerns about chopping it up.

Tried Navigon on my way to work, works brilliantly. Not as full featured as Ovi Maps though but was spot on when I tried it for my route to work from home.
