Just looking at this site
http://www.navigon.com/portal/au/produkte/navigationssoftware/navigon-mobile-navigator-android.html

and it says Navigation for free on your Android Mobile.  I can't see anywhere to download an APK and searching in the market just brings up a version that costs around $78.  Anyone tried/have this on a non rooted phone?

Hi, there's been another thread on here explaining how to get it.  You need to install Market Enabler and then preset the code (I'll look for it in a min) and then you'll be able to find it in the market, it's called Mobile Navigation by Samsung.  BRB

EDIT: When you've installed Market Enabler (free from the market) go to the Set Custom tab and enter: 53001 as the code.  Then you'll be able to search for the Navigon app in the market.  As I say, it's not called Navigon, but Mobile Navigation (or Mobile Navigon).

Does this work in Non rooted phones? Not really interested in rooting the phone right now. When I try and change the code, I get a "we got a problem houston"

Yes, I just checked the prerequisites of the Market Enabler app and yes, you need to be pre-rooted.  Sorry.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=834994&page=3, Grab the APK file from XDA, have fun. I have been using Navigon, works well. Just be aware the map files size are approximately 163 MB for Australia and 19MB for New Zealand

Ok, downloaded, copied, and extracted and comes up with an error - there is a problem parsing the package. Now what?

Extract the *.apk.gz file using 7zip, that has the apk file that I installed.

Got me stumped, I have had no problem installing the apk file. What version of the OS are running 2.2 or 2.1? I installed it on 2.2.

Good to hear that you have successfully installed Navigon. I have been using it for a while, now need to get a dash mount for the car....
