Thanks alot guys :)

Just totally bricked my phone when trying to flash the damn thing..

So took it to the shop as I had warranty.

Pretty sure I will be charged for the repair as its rooted lol

Since such disaster I have decided to study Android (ROM, ROOT, Flashing etc..)

Neways, any idea on how much it may cost??

Maybe this is an opportunity for me to look at buying a new phone :)

seems you did not do it correctly. the sgs is quite difficult to brick, and assuming there was no hardware faults it should have been straight forward.

did you use Odin or cwm to flash?

it should have been version 1.70, and you should have flashed jm8. kies should not have been loaded and you should have plugged the phone into a USB port (not a hub), only after loading Odin and putting the phone into download mode. re-partition should have been ticked, and all 4 files of the rom put into their appropriate boxes in Odin.

if all of that was yes, then I guess you had a hardware problem.

after the flash, could you still get into download mode? if so it wasn't bricked. sometimes you have to remove battery and try, it can sometimes be a matter of perfect timing for a corrupted phone.

anyway, its useful to know in case someone else has the same problems.
