wanghou168: wont be that cheap in NZ
seriously considering ordering at Amazon, or in AU then get a friend to ship to NZ

Nah it won't :( that's why I've got my price above from Amazon including shipping to Shipito

Shouldn't be hit with GST either, but that's always a concern at being just above the threshold :S

Won't be that cheap in Australia either though, apparently the Australian pricing is 599AUD + 199AUD for the dock :S.  Plus the Australian dollar is at an extreme highpoint so the US might be cheaper, depending on shipping costs

UK price is confirmed at 399GBP :S that's pretty steep too, hopefully the Taiwanese pricing will come up soon, as that's another option other than the US

I am considering this because I just saw the Sydney shops are selling Samsung Galaxy tablet for 299AUD
And the best price we have on offer is 699NZD
it is very depressing..........

Well it 599NZD with free bluetooth, 299AUD is super bargain, I wonder what do people who paid full price at launch think now..

Guess they were the early adopters of one of the first mainstream android tabs and shouldn't hopefully feel too bad :)

Glad I waited though!

Oh, Transformer was released this morning US time and has since sold out :S

Gutted :(

Apparently they shipped only a few to the US as they are really gearing up to hit the UK market for some reason

Mine has now shipped from Amazon. I'm getting it via shipito so it probably won't turn up this week, hopefully early next week though.

Marmel,

Were you in the initial pre-order or the target order? I was going to wait until Amazon ships direct to NZ but may just get target (via Amazon) to ship to shipto. What is your total cost?

Cheers, Matt.

I was in the target order. Shipping within the US was free. Don't know the total cost yet, depends on the shipping cost from Shipito and if I have to pay GST or not.

Am back in London for the meantime. Just ordered one of these. Should have it in a few days. With the battery life, the dock and the price, it's easily one of the most competitive Honeycomb tablets out there.

How much does it cost over there?

Would love a review guys of this device guys! The only downside to Android 3.0 from what I have read is the lack of apps for it. I guess it will come with time. Still, with so many things you can do on this device, apps might not be all that important for now.

If that's including a dock that's quite a good deal - around the same price as a budget laptop

Mine is now at shipito. I am awaiting a request for them to verify my account so I can pay with paypal or credit card.

I think they run a bit of a scam to be honest. You can pay the initial deposit by paypal but when you go to have them ship something they claim you have to pay by wire transfer, for which they charge an extra $16US for 'receiving it' plus the $25NZ I would have to pay this end.

All of this despite me uploading three forms of picture ID including my police ID and two utility bills showing my address.

None of this is mentioned before you sign up either.

Hopefully they will sort it out and I can pay with paypal.

I don't like the way they 'pre-clear' everything through customs. This means you WILL pay GST plus costs every time as opposed to paying it if the package gets stopped at customs which in my experience very few do.

Also they state on their website they add a customs clearance fee of $60 when the customs site state the fee is $25.30 plus $12.77 MAF fee. Nothing I hate more than companies inflating actual costs and passing it off as government charges.
