According to the net, the new EEE Pad Transformer is coming out in 5 days, US at first, then rest of the world.  $399US(Roughly $569NZD through shipito and amazon preorder with free shipping at the moment)

Anyone else possibly looking at it?
specs are:
tegra 2
HDMI
1gb ram
16/32gb
1280x800 10.1 IPS Screen
8 hour battery + 8 extra for laptop dock

Looks pretty interesting and a very good price!

Highly desirable... I can't wait to get my hands on one!! The best of both worlds - laptop and tablet combined.

Nah it won't :( that's why I've got my price above from Amazon including shipping to Shipito

Shouldn't be hit with GST either, but that's always a concern at being just above the threshold :S

Won't be that cheap in Australia either though, apparently the Australian pricing is 599AUD + 199AUD for the dock :S.  Plus the Australian dollar is at an extreme highpoint so the US might be cheaper, depending on shipping costs

UK price is confirmed at 399GBP :S that's pretty steep too, hopefully the Taiwanese pricing will come up soon, as that's another option other than the US

I am considering this because I just saw the Sydney shops are selling Samsung Galaxy tablet for 299AUD
And the best price we have on offer is 699NZD
it is very depressing..........

Yeah it totally sucks :( I had a mate who was gonna pick up the 7" one for me, but with our exchange rate I think the Transformer at 10.1 will be the best option till the new slim Galaxy tabs come out

Just have to decide whether to get the keyboard docking station or not....hmmm

I can't find any details of this at all on the US Amazon site? A bit strange if it is supposed to be launching over there today.

In fact I can't find any of the usual US online retailers that have any details of it at all.

Looks like a few preorders have come and gone so I am assuming there is going to be a delay in the US launch or there is going to be huge shortages.

Things seem a bit bizzarre. Asus have issued a press release advising the us release date is today and have about 15 retailers listed.

Not a single one of those retailers appears to have any info at all on their websites about this product?

That is weird, it does seem to have dropped off almost all e-tailer sites!

Guess something might happen tomorrow? since the release date was teh 26th and it's still the 25th over there?

Just ordered mine from Amazon, going to have it sent via shipito as I already had a credit there.

No estimated delivery date though, currently showing as out of stock so could be a while.

Interesting device, the review was a good read, thanks.

I'm holding out for the Galaxy Tab 8.9 myself for a few reasons, but if I wasn't I think I'd definitely jump on this via Shipito (or possibly Ebay). I think I'd be very tempted to get this in in the meantime in any case, if it weren't for a certain Galaxy SII that will be hitting my credit card soon.

I've used Comgateway.com instead of Shipito. Comgateway has their warehouse in Oregon..which doesn't have any sales tax. They are based in Singapore, so you can get support in NZ during our evenings.
