Hi guys.

So I just want to clarify what the story is with the version being released here for the Samsung 10.1

Are we definitely getting the thicker older version?

If so I am going to order overseas and not wait until the release date here.

If someone can confirm if they know that would be great.

Thank you.

Apple may be popular now, but that will not last.

I think that is a bit short sighted. Android will grow and Apple will remain popular too. The market is big enough for both.

Hi team.

Any further info to my post above? I am trying to work out if the thinner 10.1 will be available here or if it will just be the thicket version? If the thin one will not be here I will order from overseas this week.

Any help would be great.

I think he meant "most popular". I doubt anybody really believes Apple is going away in the foreseeable future.

Hi mate,
AS far as i know we will be getting the 10.1. The better one. its prob best to wait until 8th of june. we wont be getting it before that anyway. So as soon a vodafone release their info you can decide accordingly.
So what i have decided now is to wait until the update/release from vodafone. Once its clear if they getting it or not then i will buy acoordingly. I am pretty sure that vodafone is getting the new one (10.1) and will be coming out in just under a month, or atleast the info will be.
You can always buy it from mobicity if no news here in nz.

I wouldn't be so sure. The 10.1v (older) one is a Vodafone exclusive worldwide. So I would be surprised if that was not the one Vodafone were launching here. You will almost certainly get a better price buying it elsewhere than Vodafone anyway, so if you can get the newer/thinner one overseas now (and don't mind sourcing overseas) then get it there now. Otherwise wait for it to be available from parallel importers locally.

The press release a few weeks back did say 10.1, and I would think if we were getting the 10.1v it would be released now. In most other places that are getting it, it's been released hasn't it? I would think samsung would want to get rid of whatever stock they had of it as fast as they can.

Very good point. If we were gonna get 10.1v we would have already got it. I am sure we will be getting 10.1. time will tell i guess. I cant buy the 10.1 anywhere yet as its not out yet. I think we wil get the info pretty close to when its released in US. SO i will decide according to the price then. I really dont think it will be that bad price. 10.1 is supposed to be same price as ipad2. so ya. Ipad2 is approx $NZD799-1289 depending on what model. Thats not that bad price. I mean yes its bit more expensive than US but if you really compare its actually not that bad. These are the prices in US in NZD. NZD633 - NZD1050(499 USD to 829USD), depending on which model you buy. The most expensive one here in NZis only 200 bux more expensive than US. Buying from here isnt that bad. You get the satisfaction of buying it locally and in front of ya rather than online.
SO i am gonna wait it out.

Ok, i just found it on the Noel Leeming website.

Seriously what is up with these companies doing no marketing for these devices? Acer A500 - Didn't see a single thing promoting it before launch, and now the same with the 10.1v. It's like they don't event expect it to compete with the ipad2.

And 1299 for a tablet is a ridiculous price. The iconia 32gb is only 949. I know its not 3g, but I wouldnt expect a 3g version to be $350 more.

The Samsung tablets have a history of being expensive. The Samsung Galaxy tab is/was an expensive device...

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
