jtbthatsme: Well I think the answer he may (or she) may want even though they left themselves wide open is other than slapping a sim card in and for basic use as in sending texts and making calls practically other than the obvious of putting a sim in it then no you don't need to do anything.

If however you want to use the internet and or send pixt messages then the Put a VF sim card in won't work for those and will require you to get the settings from VF website or calling helpdesk or looking around here on GZ (I'd recommend the website or calling them).

This has been the case for me when getting any of my new phones (actually mostly others phones as I look after mine and don't upgrade a lot and other than that my optimus 2x should last me a while (although quietly I now wish i'd bought the same phone your thinking of getting)).

Thank you for the legit reply!
I'll wait until I get the phone and call voda nz if I have issues.

BTW i am a "he".?

If you have issues support comes from place of purchase as the handset is purchased from a importer

The S2 has the necessary settings to work from the get go. Some of the other/older Android phones required you to input MMS and Internet settings etc, in fact I dont think I even needed to enter voicemail or SMS numbers, they were already there, and my phone came from Clove UK.

One other thing, if the startup screen comes up in a foreign language (mine was in Greek, I think), the "change language" button is on the bottom right of the screen, switch to English and you're good to go :)
