jtbthatsme: If however you want to use the internet and or send pixt messages then the Put a VF sim card in won't work for those and will require you to get the settings from VF website or calling helpdesk or looking around here on GZ (I'd recommend the website or calling them).
jtbthatsme: Well I think the answer he may (or she) may want even though they left themselves wide open is other than slapping a sim card in and for basic use as in sending texts and making calls practically other than the obvious of putting a sim in it then no you don't need to do anything.

This has been the case for me when getting any of my new phones (actually mostly others phones as I look after mine and don't upgrade a lot and other than that my optimus 2x should last me a while (although quietly I now wish i'd bought the same phone your thinking of getting)).
