Ugh, that is disgusting. How many app developers produce them for free and aren't lazy when requesting permissions?

Yes it is, and I completely agree - it's just laziness in many cases. In other cases though, developers are simply gathering far too much information IMO, so I make sure I always review permissions before installing.

mattwnz: Have they got an ipad one yet, as that would be great on a big screen? I think their ipod one is faulty when running on an ipad, as I have it set to not display notifications, and have all the notifications off. Yet it still displays notifications when I am not using the app. Could be a ios notifications bug though I suppose.

If you don't want the notifications,?then why not just use?the site via Safari?

I think I'll just stick to TradeDroid.

It isn't as easy to use as the app. It doesn't have a ,mobile version either, so it is the same version that is displayed on a desktop.

It does have a mobile version, but it defaults to the full desktop version of the site on an iPad. If you view it on an iPhone or an Android phone, it displays the mobile site. Try going to http://m.trademe.co.nz and it should display the mobile site regardless.

It will only default to the mobile site if you dont have your Android (and maybe iPhone) browser user agent set to desktop. I only run my browser in desktop mode as mobile sites generally suck.

Wade: I find the lack of "My Favourites" could be a bit of a deal breaker

Totally agree
and the lack of:

"what I'm selling"

the force closes every few minutes, it took them a while to develop, they could have done a much better job in that time

Version 1.0.3 of the App adds support for some of the Selling side of My Trade Me (Selling, Sold, Unsold) and quite a few more features.

I get that too... 6-7 clicks anywhere is about the limit before it crashes on me. (Galaxy Nexus 4.0.2)

Phew I thought I was the only one who had this issue. . .
Never had any app force close as often as this.
