Knowing Scott a wee bit and knowing Asus having owned their products Im inclined to think that we will be surprised.
Ive been an apple fanboy in the past too but know when I see a good product technologically wise.
Gone from WM phones years ago to iPhones and now to Android Galaxy Note and Transformer Prime. Obviously I'm not set in my ways and will move where I see the technology is going.
Ill say that I believe Scott will be happy with this device for the meantime.
Bearing in mind that there is a limited lifespan with any of these devices due to the continual technological update cycle.
There I've said it-Scott will be happy with this device-albeit for a short time

The tab is basically the same as the Prime basically buy the looks which is not shabby

ok now i know it has a lapdock (i think thats what they are calling them), im very interested in this, and may switch.

currently i have
iphone 4, macbook pro, ipad 1

i hardly ever use my macbook pro for anything other than webbrowsing (sometimes i program on it, but very rarely and i have a desktop pc i can do that on), my ipad i use only to read comics (nerd), and iphone well my phone (would miss a couple of apps that arent on android though). but if i sold all those, im sure i will have plenty of money left over after buying a padfone (unless with all the docks it is really expensive, which would be stupid and be digging its own grave).

edit: renamed padphone to padfone, that may trip me up a few times....

It does look cool, and when I was using the Sensation over Christmas for a while I did think to myself that I could see the appeal to Android as a tablet device, though I hated it as a phone OS. This could be an interesting compromise. But I'm fairly well entrenched in the iOS world now having spend so many hundreds of dollars on apps!

I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

haha, I know, it's tempting!!!

Even though it's only dual-core, could fancy getting one of these over the Galaxy S III, just have to wait till April to see which is best. I'm really loving the rear design, and front edges though. It's just so simple, and smooth

Great concept. I feel this year will be a good year for final innovations for smartphones, as I feel the hardware is now reaching the end.

Big screens, HD screens, great cameras and HD video, plenty of storage, NFC coming. I cannot see what else needs to happen hardware wise. Not a fan of quad core if dual core can run HD smooth. I'd prefer dualcore +1, with larger batteries and power customisation options so that you can get good battery life and easily extend it when required. Allow the phone to run on 1 or 2 cores, or the +1 saver core, and option to reduce CPU speed.

We all played the numbers games with PC's, etc over the years, the key is smartphone battery life now. IMO
