It will be an event in Auckland but we don't have budget to fly people.

If you want to make it there yourself we can consider...

Based on the North Shore so its only about a 15min drive to the city, the smell of a Telecom press event in the CBD is obvious

Currently using an HTC Incredible S but have also had hands on time with the HTC ChaCha, Sony Ericsson Xperia Active, Huawei MediaPad, Motorola Atrix 2 and trying to get my hands on a Transformer Prime at the moment once Asus NZ get around to it at their own freewill...

The S3 hasnt even been officially announced by Samsung yet, do you really think announced by Samsung and recognised in Telecom within the next few weeks? The first is a possibility, the latter isnt

Would be keen to test out/try out the new phone. I am currenly travelling to Auckland for work every week.

My current smartphone is a Samsung Galaxy S running CM9 Alpa ICS (4.0.4). A newer device would be really great, time for a free upgrade perhaps..

Major ups to the telecom if it is the HTC One series as it has only just appeared in the flesh in Europe. It wasn't that long ago we were getting handsets offered to us that were already a year old and obsolete before they went on sale here as the latest and greatest. The only option as many of us in this forum was to parallel import.
As for the SGS3 perhaps that was the real reason for John Key's trip to Korea, to organise for us to get the SGS3 before anyone else ;).
And just to cover all bases, maybe it's the Padfone that Scott Palmer is forsaking Apple for.

I guess we are going to be flush with choices over the next few months as the handsets roll out with ICS.
Telecom has an association with most of the brands releasing new hardware so we can only speculate which will be their flagship.
Then again, with the upcoming closure of the CDMA network, perhaps now is the time to get a budget ICS handset out to woo some of the old die hards......

Sony have a few exciting models released in April with ICS as do Motorola (and HTC and .....arrgghh.. so many choices)
