If you are interested, and think you know what I am talking about, send me a PM. Or just speculate here...

I'm taking a wild stab in the dark, with possibly the HTC One X NZ release?
I think it's looking likely for a release early next week? Just not sure on which carrier...

I believe the X and V are going to Vodafone, with the S coming to Telecom sooner or later is my bet

Reasons: When the original PR release from MWC got sent out it only mentioned VFNZ and at the time HTC.com/nz mentioned the X and V

That's interesting, but the unlocked X is quad band, so should be usable on all networks here?

The new Quadrant, Sunfire browser, and other tests on the AT&T version have been very promising!  Looks like Samsung has some work to do if they want to keep up

Ok, I will give some more information and then we can focus a bit more.

In a few weeks time a new beautiful Android smartphone will show up on the line up of some of our local mobile operators.

As we've done before with some high profile devices, we are working with Telecom to give five Geekzoners the opportunity to have this new ICS handset on their hot hands - in exchange for their reviews. As we've done with HTC Sensation and Nokia Lumia, the reviews will be post on TelecomTech, our Telecom-sponsored blog about new mobile devices.

We will be looking for five people and this time we have plans for something else than just sending these via post - we need all five to be in or around Auckland, for an opportunity that will be "grand".

Post your reasons to be selected, offer your bribes here and in a few days I will come up with five names after scrubbing our database, looking at your community contributions, knowledge, etc, etc...

Could be one of the new HTC's, The Xperia S or the LG optimus 4x. Some very potent phone's coming out.

Yay! I am in Auckland and love android..... Is that enough? If not my Ideos X5 is starting to look tired in the android world!

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Yeah I would also be happy to fly to Auckland for this but don't live there.

Keen to try out ICS on a phone, the last Android I had only had 2.2 on it so would be nice to see how far it has come.

Edit: oh I just noticed I missed my 1000 post....I was looking forward to that.

I guess it's worth putting my name in the hat - based in Hamilton, but travel up and down the country a fair bit for work and could easily pop up to Auckland.

Currently using a Samsung Galaxy S II on Vodafone (waiting patiently for the VFNZ ICS update), occasionally tethered to an ASUS Transformer. Would be a great chance for me to check out the opposition... I'm often working indoors where Vodafone's building penetrance probably isn't as great as Telecom's frequencies are reported to be.
