I've got 14G reee out of 24G reported storage. 8 gig of apps could easily be halved if I uninstalled some games

Has anyone purchased any additional USB C to USB A cables?  I've recently purchased the Nexus 5x and read that not all cables are created equally.  Has anyone got any recommendations for cables they have used with the 5x?

I got one from the Google Play store which works for charging and data transfer fine. Probably cheaper options around though...

Hoping for a cheaper option as I want a few at different lengths.  Nervous now that I'm going to end up frying something!

Saw that Noel Leeming is now selling the 5X for $440 until 20/9

With rumors that the 2016 Nexus is going to be priced over the entry price of the Nexus 5X, I am thinking that maybe the 5X is a pretty good bargain because I doubt that I will be able to afford a "Nexus 2016"
2GB of RAM in the 5X still puts me off just a bit as it seems very limiting (the Nexus 4 has 2GB and its coming up to 4 years old)

Go to Warehouse staionary and they will price match and give you 5% off , i got a Nexus 5X FOR $417.05 on the 12 of september , i told the NL guy i was just going to walk 50 metres up the road (St Lukes Mega centre) and get warehouse staionary to price match , he told me that was the lowest he could do it for , so warehouse staionary got the sale

Very happy with my new phone

Quite tempted by that price too...  anyone have any thoughts on the 2GB RAM though, when I see a lot of the newer\higher end phones android now seem to have 3 or 4?

I guess the price goes up with the amount of ram etc

It's always a trade off price v specs , sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and hopefully you don't end up regretting your choice

I was so close to purchasing yesterday, but when I compare the 5X to the 4 that I own, it feels that I am just purchasing the same phone

And since my 4 still works with everything I need, I decided the money was better in my account.

I bought one a few weeks ago when they were $499 at Warehouse Stationary. At the time I still loved my N5 but after it was dropped I was unable to repair it.

As much as I love the fingerprint scanner and as much as thought I would love a new phone, the 5X is just a little too big for my hands, is just a little too big for my pockets and doesn't have wireless charging nor magnets so can't be used with the Nexus chargers I have wired into our cars.

If I had to make the decision again I would buy a second hand N5 for half the price. It's still a great phone, but not as much of a jump over the N5 as I had hoped.

There certainly hasn't been much advance in Android hardware in the last few years.

I have a Nexus6, but feel like I could have an N5 and it'd be the same thing. Certainly there was nothing in the 6P/5X I felt I needed to upgrade.

Hoping the Pixel phones are more interesting, but I have major doubts!

I have had the Nexus 4, 5, 6 and 7.
My 6P is definitely the best of all.
Best size, performance and camera of all.

Pulled the trigger on a 5X from Warehouse stationery - used their low price guarantee to get them to beat Noel Leemings price of 399 by 5% :)

I'm returning to Android from a stint on Windows Phone, which I still think has a slightly better OS, but very happy with the 5X so far. In areas it feels much more polished than Winphone, but in others a bit behind.  Compared to the 640XL it replaced, the 5X has pros and cons - the smaller screen and battery are a bit of a downer but quick charge more than makes up for the battery.

Tried out tap&pay through ANZ gomoney app yesterday, worked very well, love that.  Also the wealth of apps available compared to Winphone is nice.

Using icons instead of tiles feels so 2010 but widgets seem decent. The Microsoft apps I've tried so far perform extremely well so I don't have to give up the Microsoft ecosystem which I'm already somewhat invested in (That is once I upgraded to Nougat - they didn't seem to work so well on Marshmallow which came with the phone)

All in all happy with the 5X and Android so far... :)

Plus, you'll discover that android has a really useful set of things not found on Windows phones ...

... they're called apps (-;
