Website is up. Damn I need phone to redeem as asks for serial. Was hoping to get in early.

Looking forward to tomorrow.
Hopefully they can process the watches fairly fast.

I like emui. But I know that's not the norm......with media. sales wise consumers obviously like. I have had a great experience and my mate 9 despite age has great battery life and runs just as fast as I remember it going when I got it. I'm mainly just upgrading for the camera.

I will add though while having different opinions is fine and I understand how people have different needs. That repeating the same lists of dislikes repeatedly to people excited to finally get theirs isn't going to win over people hearts. Imagine doing that at a launch day lineup in person.

It's also really pompus considering it's a luxury item. Oh you have a Ferrari. Lame if you get a McLaren it performs better in almost every way for the same price.
To which I reply yeah but it don't catch on fire. Lol rip senna I mean Samsung.

Also, we get it, you are still looking for the ideal phone...

No dont get me wrong, Im trying to like this phone, Im just being honest and I think if others were too they would see its not all bells and whiltles, in fact more thorns than roses, but do are the Roses pretty enough to make up for the Roses?

no headphone jack (not even an adapter), 2017 non flagship 1080p esque screen (the s10 does look substantially better just in browsing), 30fps 4k and crippled night video shooting and lastly a noticeable in the hand weight, Emui which nobody seems to like, width and poorly designed edge system vs the galaxy which is MUCH narrower by sight and weighs 50 grams less.

For me, you are paying flagship prices for 3 things, fast battery charging (although other phones are close to the same speed), 5x OIS zoom, superior low light shooting, time of flight

I do agree with this website, Huawei got the art of upselling wrong on their models.https://www.pcworld.com/article/3384922/huawei-p30-p30-pro-forced-upgrade.html

Here are the camera differences and I do agree with a lot of what this sight says about the Pro not really being much of a pro;

P30

  • 40MP (Wide Angle Lens, f/1.8)
  • 16MP (Ultra Wide Angle Lens, f/2.2)
  • 8MP (Telephoto, f/2.4, OIS)

P30 Pro

  • 40MP (Wide Angle Lens, f/1.6, OIS)
  • 20MP (Ultra Wide Angle Lens, f/2.2)
  • 8MP (Telephoto, f/3.4, OIS)
  • Time-of-flight

Its a real tough one as the low light shooting is not to be sniffed at, nor is 5x OIS zoom in a phone, but given all its misgivings thats really what you have to suffer with to get these 2 standout feaures.

On a lighter note, do you think the watch and headphones will get another $500 in resale, because its hard to argue with its misgivings for $599

If you want to buy it buy it, if you don't don't.

I don't see anything that would affect most real world users (users who aren't sitting with three flag ship phones side by side comparing every spec).

NL have said you will receive a text once the phone is ready. Don't waste time by going in early expecting to pick-up

At https://giftredeem.co.nz/ which is the redemption page there is no option to choose a colour.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

For those that missed the pre-order $400 discount on phone. NL has extended it with $300 now and Pioneer headphones.

Nah don't wait for their txt, I popped in first thing in the morning on release day for S10 without getting the txt and they were already there, did the same again this morning and got my P30. Headphones are still on back order though. I just redeemed the watch - stated delivery time is "within 28 working days" :/

But hopefully if I got in early enough I'll be amongst the first to get processed, fingers crossed.
