PB tech have just updated their deal. No power bank but you get the Sennheiser PXC 550 headphones which I think is a better pair. Good thing I didn't get it or I would have been tempted to keep the headphones instead of selling them to fund the phone.

It will. The battery management will start prompting you to allow it to automatically shut down unused background apps after three days. This is Samsung's way of fixing the ongoing android problem of background apps sucking your battery life. On a nexus\pixel phone all you can do is run a third party app like Greenify or uninstall it. Sony and the Chinese phone brands do the same. Google want all their stuff to run so that they can track you so they are never going to forcible close things. Doze mode was their solution, stuff still runs in the background and they can track you, it just happens less often.

Phone has been doing great so far. The screen is out of this world. And one thing to note (ha) is that it's really nice of Samsung to include a clear case with the phone.

The screen is really what made the S8 amazing so I expect it to be even more amazing with the N9. I also get HDR on netflix which I am still bitter about never getting on the S8. It supported HDR, just not the standard that Netflix implemented.

Somehow I couldn't get 1440p to work on YouTube. I've served my phone resolution to the maximum resolution but on YouTube it still maxes out at 1080p

Interestingly, I received an email this afternoon from PB apologizing for not having the the Sennheiser Momentums (in Black) in stock. One of the options was to instead take the PXC 550's. Personally I prefer the styling of the Momentums - so went out on a limb and took the option of having them in ivory instead.

My order status is still sitting as it has been for a day or so at Goods Available. So not hopeful of seeing anything tomorrow.

I think the 550s are the travel model and the momentum's are the fashion model for looking good while walking down the street. I haven't done the research but I suspect the sound quality is roughly the same. I have the Sony 1000x and they are almost perfect except for the completely hopeless call quality when using the mics in the headphones. They do have ldac which is a big plus given its supported by Samsung since Oreo.

You've pretty much summed it up. General consensus is the 550's are technically better. But both at the end of the day are very good. While you won't see me walking down the street with them on anytime soon. I'm prepared to sacrifice a little (subjective) performance in this case.

Wondering if this snafu with the headphones has something to do with the lack of progress in getting the phone...
