johny007g:

My google play system update is on 1 July 2023 ................ does any body know of any other way to update this.

Not sure how you tried to update this. On my S21 running Android 13, it's: Settings/About phone/Software information/Google play system update/Check for update. Touch that and it seems to work. I notice you went to that menu location, but did you touch the "Google play system update" to get to the next screen? I only discovered this by playing around, it didn't seem to be covered in any of the web articles.

Mine was dated 1 May, and updated to 1 Nov. I had noticed several articles recently about this not updating when it should have been, not just Samsung but other makes as well. I'd tried various things described on the web, none of which worked. Not sure if the fault is with Google or Samsung, and I can't believe it is up to the user to do this manually.

Thanks @MartinGZ . Yes Clicked on big blue button at the bottom Check for update and usually do 2 or 3 times to check but never updates just says up to date.

Also still can't disable this stupid google discover keeps coming up at random times, once I seen settings button on google discover popup so checked it out and it was for Bixby which I turned off and have never used or turned on so don't know how this happened. Have installed nice catch from good lock to see if I can find out what is causing it.

Thanks @gehenna for the suggestion to reset but already done factory reset twice now and that's where the problems have started, completely installed apps fresh & google for contacts & other google apps, no smart switch as too unreliable. As soon as I updated to android 14 started to get problems with Bluetooth connections on /off, touching screen always taking screenshot so did factory reset. First time didn't seem right so did again next day, and today just done 2 diagnostics test through Samsung members app in case hardware problem eg screen touch but all  comes up ok. Think will wait for January update and hope it comes right which I thought December update might fix problems and if still no fix will need to do another factory reset.

Thanks @gehenna that's what I was thinking just have to hope doesn't get worse now as not many repair shops open over Xmas break so just hope nothing serious develops.

Where do you see the speed you are connected to wifi now?

Good question - I see what you mean after comparing my S23U to my old Note 10.

It seems like there is no way to display this natively without installing third party app - someone correct me if I am wrong on this.

It's still there.

Just VERY HIDDEN.

WiFi > 3 dots top right > Intelligent WiFi > Tap Intelligent WiFi at the bottom until labs it turned on > Open connectivity labs > Click on your SSID name you're connected to > More at the bottom.

Oh wow there is a lot of diagnostic tools under Connectivity labs, one of those is you can walk around the house to detect any weak signal spots in the house, very useful.

Thanks. I found lots of interesting stuff in there. I literally can't think of a single good reason to hide this away so well!

That's interesting, I never knew about checking for Google Play updates. Mine was on 1 July but now updated to 1 November.
