Tired a search here and via google but nowhere can I the answer:
I can not get my S3 to allshare with my samsung DPD8000, all discussion groups seem to say that there is a bug in the device and there is no fix. Works on my S2 running ICS but not my S3. Any ideas?

I have a d7000 TV I think the s3 all share works fine with that, is there any specific function that's not working? I mainly use allshare between my pc and tv so I may have just not noticed

webup: I got this case from Trademe and is perfect for me.
No worries dropping the phone at all now.

I've put up some photos if anyone's interested.

I had one of these for my S2. Loved it.

the phone and tv do not connect or recognise each other, I can still use my s2 but now that i have the s3 I want to use that.

it should be able to display the photos and videos i have taken on the tv via allshare but seeing that the 2 devices do not talk to each other

I'll give mine a try again when I get home from weekend away, I seem to remember I9300 being on the list of devices tho

Hey guys,

I have posted a new thread that has the 2degrees latest firmware for I9300 in the 2degrees forum, I don't know if that is the right place for it.

Here it is:

Download 2Degrees i9300 stock firmware. I9300MBDNZC with CSC I9300NZCALE5

This is the same version that came with my 2degrees S3, so are you providing it just for people that might want to try a custom ROM and then return to stock?

Yes absolutely; tuck it away somewhere safe in case you have a warranty issue.  Hopefully we'll see custom ROM devs including the CSC package now too.

chovik: Otterbox Case "Commuter"

Is anyone using one of these cases? Any comments...too bulky etc??
Any links for where the best place is to purchase...maybe ebay (never used ebay so not sure how to search for this)

Currently using the "Flip case" that is the Samsung one...very nice and slim line but obviously whilst providing great protection for the screen doesn't offer any other protection to the phone if dropped etc

Thanks

I'm thinking of getting one of the Defender cases just before Xmas to protect the S3 from sand on the beach, from what I understand the commuter is only partial protection on some things.

I've used these for years. The Defender series is the top-of-the-line protection and can take harder knocks/drops. It has a hi-impact polycarbonate shell with outer silicone layer, and a non-stick membrane over the screen. This means the phone is completely covered (probably a good idea if you plan on laying it on sand) but it adds a fair bit of bulk.

The Commuter series covers the back and sides with a hi-impact polycarbonate shell and silicone layer. To cover the screen you use the included screen protector. I prefer these cases because, while they offer good protection (tested by dropping a  phone - accidentally- from standing height onto a concrete floor & not getting as much as a scratch) they are thinner and don't add much bulk.

Both series cover the plugs with the silicone protection - these are "hinged" and easy to open and close as needed - they stop grit and dust from getting into the plugs.

All the phones I've used these on stayed in perfect condition with not even a teeny scratch after years of use. For me, that's been quite an achievement as my phones get dropped into the bottom of bags with keys and assorted other potentially-damaging items.

Thanks Elpie for such a considered reply...my otterbox Commuter has arrived and so I have now had it on for the 2nd day...opinions so far....nice finish and indeed looks like it will protect the phone well...as far as dropping etc is concerned.
Really does seem to add so much bulk to such a nice slim phone...and it appears..real or not... that the phone due to the increased bulk does seem a lot heavier...maybe just an impression?
The case is quite slippery so not sure if this will change with use?
After using the Samsung flip case I feel rather nervous now about not having the screenphysically  covered (I am using a screen protector)
Next case I will be looking for is a flip cover that opens from the bottom so that it remains easy to use the camera function
One good point also noticed is that with the size of the peripheral lip I am now not hitting the "return" button with the base of my thumb all the time as I was before without a case when I reached up with my thumb to press something on the screen near the top of the screen

Working fine for me once I turned it back on in settings, settings>more settings>nearby devices (dlna), I can see videos/pictures/music like other allshare stuff

CyanogenMod 10 aka Jelly Bean is up and running on our phones.. Going to upgrade later tonight and see how it goes! There appears to be a few little quirks but for the most part everything is working! :D
