Lorenceo: The Samsung flip case. When it did charge once it was inside the case, and didn't seem too fussy about orientation. Now it's intermittent with and without the case.

Neither of the chargers I've tried with have been from Samsung.

Is it the flat pads or stand you have tried?

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Both are flat pads.

I decided against the flat pads after reading reported issues with these, Go back to the store and see if they will exchange for the stand type, they are both the same price.

My stand works great in both orientations and had zero connectivity issues. Charge rate has always been ferry fast.

Lorenceo:

Has anyone had trouble with wireless charging on their S7? Got one recently, and the wireless charging has been very hit and miss (mostly miss). Have tried two charging pads. One wouldn't charge the phone at all. The other charged it to 100% once, but since then will either alternate between charging and charging paused, or say it's charging once, then say charging has paused. Both pads confirmed to work with other phones (an S6 edge and a Nexus 5).

Have tried the enabling screen saver while charging suggestion from online. Doesn't help. The option to enable/disable fast wireless charging doesn't appear in the battery settings for some reason. Have seen it mentioned online. Has anyone else experienced similar issues, or have any ideas on how to get around it?

No issues at all - wireless charging on my S has been flawless. I'm using two LG charging pads purchased from Amazon a couple of years ago for my Nexus 5.

any one tried enabling adaptable storage yet?

aside from a wee misreporting of total storage .. works like a charm.   and a great side effect ... google photos has unrestricted access to photos etc that are infact being saved to the SD card now. good news for those who might have been getting the message about having to launch yr native gallery app.

Is there anything I should consider before buying this phone through these guys? They seem to have good reviews. Also the handset itself...will anything be different as it is parallel imported???

Anyone else experiencing terrible battery life with the S7?

Using the Gsam battery monitor app, looks like the device rarely, if ever goes into "deep sleep" or "doze" mode. The vast majority of drain is caused by "Android System".

Have tried clearing cache, disabling wifi & bluetooth scanning, set wifi to sleep when not plugged in, disabled s-voice, turned location to "gps only", and various other things, all to no avail.

The only thing that seems to work is rebooting the phone 2-3 times a day which seems to then help for a while, this isn't very practical.

Workmate has the same issue, we have Spark and Vodafone sourced devices respectively.

Bought my previous phone from them, they seem to be fine and did honour a warranty repair I had. It'll be an ex-Asia variant so some of the NFC payment functionality may well not work here. (Snapper won't and Semble won't, standalone support from ASB\BNZ etc might do?).

I got 9 hours and 55 minutes of screen-on time yesterday. Just under 17 hours total battery life. I have the 2Degrees variant of the S7 Edge.

I've been having this issue as well. It appears that a system process starts running after charging, and keeps the CPU frequency high, with a fair bit of utilization, and keeps it awake as you've mentioned.

My device is a Spark one.

There was talk of battery drain over on xda at the same time our firmware came out.

Looks like it was corrected but as spark and Vodafone are so slow at giving the OK for updates God knows when we will get it.

My spark devices is still on Aprils security release we are almost at July.
So much for monthly updates on Samsung devices.

I've been considering flashing a different image to mine anyway. Not a fan of the Samsung emojis, nor TouchWiz. Might get around it?
