Galaxy S has gone to its new owner. HTC Sensation has gone to its new
owner. Galaxy S3 has gone to its new owner. Now using Galaxy Note 3. Skipping Note 4 I think...

In NZ, Telecom are selling the XT flavour (with 850MHz / 2100MHz 3G)

With most phones you have either 850Mhz or 900MHz....but not both. iPhone 4 can do both.

I'm going to avoid "quality" altogether as it means different things to different people....and is there rendered close to meaningless.

Samsung have gone for light, strong materials. The SGS and SGS2 feel so light in your hand. That is a great feeling. The trade off is in sturdiness. The back on my SGS cracked near the power button. You can see they anticipated this as they have a plastic "patch" across the stress point where the crack appeared, which arrested it's expansion across the back of the phone, in my phone. I can't comment in too much detail about the SGS2 as I haven't spent more than half an hour with one.

HTC have opted for a more solid feel. It's heavier.....but not heavy. The cast aluminium case is very different. Heavier....solid. They have opted to cup the back over the top of the phone, I suspect to avoid having an edge hit the ground if you drop it. The edges top and bottom tend to be offset from likely contact points.

I see different design choices directed by different goals for the final 'feel'. The HTC has less RAM and no internal SD, but it's also a less expensive (I did say "cheaper", but it's the wrong word) phone. The Sense UI is a real selling point for people who like Sense. I like Sense 3.0 more than any previous previous version. But I still turn animations off as they make things look slower than they really are and they don'tactually DO anything (useful).

I like them both. I'd be perfectly happy with either one. :-)

What is the total storage space for install Apps (bearing in mind that not all Apps can be installed to the SD Card). Is it 1GB (as compared to the HTC Desire's 512MB).

How does this compare with the SGS II?

I think the SGS II has 2gb for apps the same as the SGS. The HTC Sensation has 1gb.

I think the SGS II has 2gb for apps the same as the SGS. The HTC Sensation has 1gb.

Correct.

Its a slight issue for me with the Sensation, since my installed apps on the SGSII come to 1.1GB, and my 32GB card isn't quite enough for my media as it is (so moving apps to the SD isn't quite the cure you'd expect, for example I already can't install Eternal Legacy to the Sensation because there isn't enough space on the external SD, at least if I get close to the 2GB limit in the SGSII at least I still have the internal SD to move apps to but obviously thats not a help with the Sensation). Probably most users won't have 150+ apps installed at any one time with lots of them being high quality games though :)
