Ssso the definite symptoms off my problem is the excessive letterrr input when typing. Iv even left the errors in this paragraph for a example.

Nextt obvious one is scrolling issues in menus or webpages.

So if anyone is experiencing these two most common symptoms let me know. No doubt mine is likely defective and will be getting a replacement.

It could still be software problem yett and because off how new the phone is, it may not bbe quite public yet.

Clearly you can see how ffustratingg thiss can be. Kinda taaaakingg the sting out of the fun off having a new toy.

I have just upgraded from a note 4 and the data transfer seemed to work fine for my S Note files but they seem to have gone to Samsung Notes instead. What is Samsung notes? What is the difference between the two apps?

Its integrated, both notes and s notes together in a single app. Simpliified.

Sorry I don't convey myself very well. On the contrary! this phone and the s pen have been awesome over the last few years. I used to carry around a large work book which I was always leaving everywhere and having pages blowing all over neighbourhoods while measuring roofs. My confusion is that I now have two apps that look very similar and seem to do the same things but all my s note files seem to have all copied over to the Samsung notes app and my S Notes is empty. I realise I need to spend some time researching but I can't seem to find much online.

Hopefully my explanation will help you.

Action memo is no longer available in device as a app. Its exclusively for screen off memo and thats it. Want to write a quick note, thats hoe you do it. Pull your pen out while the phone is off and activate the screen off memo. Done.

For making notes of any kind, its been taken over completely by one single app, samsung notes. This app so happens to hold the list for the offscreen memos to simplify things by not complicating it with multiple apps.

Hmm plugged in the phone to my PC and it doesn't detect it, the phone only charges and nothing happens if I tap on the charging notification.

Edit: Fixed, the phone didn't like being plugged in the X34 USB port and would rather be plugged in directly to the PC.

Greetings all,

Long time lurker here, asking for some advice.

I've been a Spark prepaid customer for a few years, and decided to get a Note 7 on contract. Went into the store, got a new one on Friday. It uses a different SIM from my old Note 4, so they put a SIM in it and told me that they'd change over the number. That didn't happen Friday night, so I checked on Saturday and heard there had been some technical issues. Saturday evening, the Spark app showed that my contract was activated (with an error, but hopefully that can be sorted out) when I connected on wifi. But BOTH my SIMs were deactivated ("Not registered on network") so I had no working phone.

So far, nothing too major: technical problems, an error somewhere. I couldn't make any calls, so I go onto the Spark website (on the Note 7) and open a chat session with one of the CS reps. The chat window does not like the mobile browser, apparently. it randomly adds letters, doubles words, etc., very hard to make myself understood. I go back and forth with the rep for several minutes (I did tick the "mail a transcript" box, so I have a record), and am not able to get an answer to the problem. At one point he recommends I call the mobile team, and I have to remind him I don't have a phone. I say I *have* to have a working phone at 7am, and say I'll try using my laptop to open a chat session so we can communicate more easily. That's when things get... problematic.

I put in my info, ask to be connected with the same rep in the "Question" box, and click "Chat Now". It goes "connecting...." and stays there for minutes. It just goes on and on, and won't connect. so I close the window and try again, and again, and again, nothing. Then I try changing browsers, same thing. I ask him if their system is accepting incoming connections (I'm still on the session on the Note browser) and he says "Yes". It simply won't respond. Then on one of my retries I got the message "Chat is now closed. We are open from Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm. Please try again later..." This startled me because one of the things that the CS rep had said before is "The chat service is available 24 hours", so how come I was getting that message?

Then it occurred to me - maybe the message was just for me. I opened a new browser window, entered my middle name and a friend's number, and a different email address; and connected without a problem in seconds. The session was routed to a different CS rep, who was just as helpful -- told me to call the mobile team after 9 am, despite the fact that I had already said I didn't have a working phone.

Here's where I'd like some advice. It seems from the sequence pf events that the reason I was unable to get through on the chat session on my laptop had something to do with the fact that I was chatting with CS rep 1. There could be a technical reason for that, but I'm forced to wonder if someone just couldn't be bothered to work on my problem, and decided to jerk me around until I gave up. After all, they do see the information that you type into the setup form before you connect. The string of errors, "technical problems", and now this behavior from their CS staff, makes me wonder if this is how Spark treats their customers once they feel they have them trapped in a contract. I'm strongly inclined to take back their equipment on Monday, demand that they tear up the contract, and go next door to Vodafone and buy the same phone from them on a similar contract.

- does this sound like typical Spark customer service to you?

- is Vodafone any better/worse than Spark in terms of network performance? Reliability? customer service?

- do you know of any technical reason why their system might have blocked me from making a second connection? That's the part that really bothered me...

Really, really, disappointed. Thought I would have a great weekend trying out my new phone. Now I'm in pretty major trouble because I'll be completely cut off for the rest of the weekend. Thanks Spark, thanks a whole lot.

Website services designs can be quite complex and chaotic. Reasons for problems can be many and come from unexpected sources.
Just a guess but it could have been that you were connected with details on your mobile device that was conflicting with the details you tried using on the computer. Its possible they were not expecting scenarios where logins in multiple locations with same details would occur. Also explains why using different details when initiating the chat seemed to work.
Id find it highly unlikely you were isolated because of ignorance.

Sparks support system is not too bad, better than in previous years. But i think vodafone may be a little better, but after how many years now when they were terrible ?. Its only of late they have improved themselves.

All in all, id say youv had some bad luck, but if you go vodafone you might have better support and software reliability. Flip a coin really.

Yeah, I thought of that possibility - it's the reason why I'm trying not to jump to a conclusion. But it's just one thing after another - the failure to move over the number, then the error with the contract, then disconnecting both of my phones at the same time leaving me no way to communicate - it's inconvenient now, but at least I'm somewhere I have wireless. I was originally going to be on the road this weekend - I'd have been completely cut off. Then the CS thing was just the last straw.

When both me and my hubby moved from Vodafone to Spark last year (prepaid) I had no issues what so ever hut my husbands sin arrived and he rang tp get it connected etc but it took over a wrek of ringing them to sort it out. I've had great Service from them. Try send them a Facebook message also as I find them really helpful on there.

I've been on an iPhone for the past 9 years, but the Note 7 may just be enough to get me to switch.

Any retailer/carrier have any decent package deals on them? The PBTech one looked good but they've sold out of the black ones at the stores near me.

I made this list way back, nothing has changed as far as i know other than the new retailers that are now selling it, like 2 degrees and pbtech.

Have you tried calling 0800 785 785? it's one of Spark's automated lines that activates sim cards for you. When I switched over from iPhone 6s Plus to Note 7, they sent me a set of new sim card and I switched to the new sim card for heck of it. Just called that number and choose the simcard number on the card they sent me and it was activated within a minute of ending the call.

Of course you'll have to call this number from a working phone.
