mecow: Not too sure yet, I didn't spend much time at all with the stock ROM so can't really compare. Overnight (6hours) it lost perhaps 8% on standby. Will give it a few days and report back.

Only bug I have experienced so far is switching between front and back camera takes about 5 seconds which isnt really a deal breaker.

Apparently some people are experiencing a memory leak - but I haven't rebooted in about 20hours and there is still RAM free so who knows.

The hour or two I spent on the stock ROM I felt buyers remorse coming from an iPhone. Can happily say that has gone now - can't wait for official JB to be released

Link? Instructions? What phone did you have to start with
I have the telecom I9300T and I want to go to JB this weekend :)

Well it was my first time rooting/flashing an android handset so I will just assume you have it rooted/CWM installed already? If not I used this tool Samsung GS3 Int Toolkit and found instructions somewhere online http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488

Then just followed the OP's guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1817345

FYI People are reporting WiFi tethering problems (I don't use so cannot confirm)

My tethering is broken on this stock ROM anyway.. so no love lost :)
Yup CFrooted already, I've flashed before no drama's it was just finding a stable JB ROM for the S3 (Dont think CM10 is ready yet)

Aaaah I see - well this seems very stable all voice/sms/data is working no problems yet

Did you start as the I9300 (vodafone/2D) or I9300T (telecom)?

Hardware wise I'm quite sure there isn't.. However I have no ROM to go back to stock if I wanted. However I don't use all the nice S3 options anyway...

I started on I9300T but have flashed a few roms and noticed no differance with non I9300T modems, best thus far is the LFB modem for me.

Tried Super for a couple of days, was impressed with the speed of it, battery wise it was fine and only getting 1-3 % loss overnight but I have all the sync apps switched off and wifi off when asleep and that helps heaps.

Was nice trying a pure google Rom but still missed the samsung apps I have gotten used to. Being its basically Nexus ported to S3 i will wait unto Samsung release JB but tempted to try Liquid JB as it is based on 4.1.1.
Bugwise only as reported the camera lag between front and rear but as I have never used it there isn't a problem for me.

As I flashed to SuperNexus nearly instantly what Samsung apps do you like to use/make it worth staying on their firmware?

oops shouldn't have put apps meant the little things like the drop down menu lockscreen etc, I use nova launcher so Touch wiz isn't missed.

Just do a nandroid backup and try something like Omega ICS its very popular and has all the bells and whistles, plus the aroma installer which allows you to chose what you want in Rom. I'm back to foxhound LFB as it has been the most stable ICS for me.

Good thing about nandroid is you can always go back if you don't like it although having to setup phone for every new rom is annoying even with Titanium backup.

SO does a NANDROID backup copy the entire ROM/APPS/Settings? How do I make sure things like photos are not deleted?

Thanks for your help - only my second day on this buzz

Impressive progress for only two days, well done! Yes Nandroid backs up everything including pics. Think Ghosting a hard disk. Good idea to copy your nandroid backup to your pc or somewhere in case you have a major crash.

es nandroid takes image off system doesn't touch internal SD or ext SD however I normally backup that to PC. Most roms will do EFS backup as well but to be on safe side go to playstore and find an EFS backup they're normally free and don't take up much room.

Best app I have paid for is Titanium backup as it backs up all your apps so worth the money, free version is fine as well.

Best to triall new roms and kernals for a couple of days so it settles done a bit as you normally get bad battery when changing.

jeffnz, am I wrong saying the pics are not backed up? I have found everything still there after a restore or is that just because nothing removed them between flashing ROM's?

kiwitrc you have me there I always thought it just took an image of rom, software, settings etc so it returns to same state as you left it. I don't think it touchs internal SD but will check

can't find definitive answer but logic would say it doesn't backup internal SD as you could have 16gb in there of pics music etc and if youi have no ext SD card where does it store copy which could be twice the size of SD card I'm sure one of the people more in the know will give us a better answer suffice it pays to do backups to PC anyway.

Do you use a specific program to do backups to PC or do you just copy the backup file off?
