jeffnz: can't find definitive answer but logic would say it doesn't backup internal SD as you could have 16gb in there of pics music etc and if youi have no ext SD card where does it store copy which could be twice the size of SD card I'm sure one of the people more in the know will give us a better answer suffice it pays to do backups to PC anyway.

Do you use a specific program to do backups to PC or do you just copy the backup file off?

I just locate clockworkmod\backups and use explorer to drag it across

Thanks! Coming from jailbreaking iPhones for the past 4 or 5 years this Android business is a lot deeper, more intuitive and fun

I initially found rooting and flashing quite nervewracking but if you follow the guides it becomes second nature and you normally follow a pattern of full wipe, dalvic, partition cache, permissions and have no real issues. if its an update of your current rom then a full wipe is normally not required and any little glitches are sorted with doing another flash

Hey guys,

Sorry, this may have been discussed before, but I am thinking about upgrading to a 64GB class 10 micro SD for my S3. Has anyone had any issues using these cards? I've heard high failure rates when used with ICS.

Anything I need to know or be aware of? What about formatting the card before use?

Thanks

Thanks for the heads up!

Yes, it does.

A common command is "Set timer for 15 minutes" (that's how long a mince + cheese pie takes to cook in the oven). The phone responds with something like "setting alarm" and then sets an alarm - it doesn't use the timer.

I couldn't get s-voice to understand that unless I pronounced timer as "tie-murr" (emphasis on the 'er') and minutes as "mee-nits".

However, with s-voice, if I said "Set Tie-murr" it would ask me how long to set it for. Google Now just pops up a web page with search results for "set timer". The command "set Alarm" sets an alarm for 6 minutes from now. I have no idea where it gets the 6 mins from.

I bought this and have had no issues with it. All SDXC cards comes preformatted with exFAT and don't need to be formatted with another file system to use in the S3 (unlike in other phones).

Anyone know if it's possible to edit the "Audio Applications" list you get when you plug headphones in?

Yes there is.  NZtechfreak had details of the application "Headphone Shortcuts for S3".  Though it requires root access.  I think it's an apk you need to sideload on your phone. I can't find it on the Play Store, but it's on my phone.  I'll do some digging, or you could search the XDA-Developers site too :)

EDIT:  Found the thread.

Something weird happened today.

I turned data off and plugged my phone in to charge (it's always had problems charging if data was on). The phone was at 48%. The charging message showed, the light was on, but nothing happened. I checked everything again, plugged in to a different power point, and waited. Six hours later, it had charged to 51%. Checked everything again, then the screen locked up. Rebooted the phone, set it to charge and again nothing happened.
Powered off, then on again, and tried charging again. This time it worked. The phone charged in the usual length of time and hasn't had a lockup in the last few hours.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Any clues to what may have caused it?

I'll wade in with the standard "pull the battery out" response.....
