Are there any good deals going on for the S7? My sister was looking at getting the S7 but the prices havent really dropped, neither has the S7 come on for sale during Queen's Birthday or anything.

Thanks for that. Just had a look at it. Its a branded import (i lose out the 24 month warranty) so not exactly what I am after. I would have gotten it from a parallel imported place otherwise.

Ideally looking for Noel Leeming or one of those stores to have a sale where I can pick one up - or some sort of specials.

Any news of any other changes with G930FXXU1APGH - >300MB seems like an awfully large update just for security patches. Can't say I've noticed any differences anywhere.

Looks like the fixes for the battery drain after being removed from charging still haven't been applied in this update, needs a reboot after charging to make it behave still.

Haven't noticed any spectacular improvements/changes. Or mediocre improvements/changes either for that matter!

Thought I'd try the (unbranded generic) Australian firmware instead and see if it's any better\worse;

Looks like a better site than sammobile is here; http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?r=TNZ&v=&q=sm-g930f

There's a Spark NZ firmware on there from April to roll back to if need be, otherwise will try the XSA firmware for Australia and see how it goes.

Have noticed that the Spark firmware doesn't support Voice over LTE, presumably still not implemented on the network?

I was suffering severe battery drain on my S7, sometimes as much as 60% overnight! I tried all manner of app and power saving settings, plus numerous reboots, but nothing helped.

In the end, about two weeks ago, I performed a factory reset/data erase and now it's behaving perfectly.

My overnight battery usage is pretty good, I tend to put it in flight mode but even so it only tends to lose around 3-5%. During the day it's pretty sub-par.

Flashed the Australian firmware, didn't even wipe my user data, seems good so far, will see if it's any better with battery usage.

I have been running the XSA software for just over a month now.

When i first installed it there was the bug with battery drain in stand-by however the update from 5th Aug fixed that.

XSA is getting updated monthly at the moment where the spark and other NZ s7 phones looks like its once in a while (4+ months between firmware).

I am staying with the XSA from now on.

The big update came through for me recently as well. Spark firmware/phone. Haven't noticed any major differences.

Since disabling Google sync I've found my battery life has been much better. Have had it go 3.5 days, and the battery got down to 40% before I charged it again.

I wouldn't expect that notable UI changes would likely turn up until 3-4 months after the initial Android N release so I don't expect it'll be this year.
