They are probably not going to do 5G which for me is not a deal breaker. But VoLTE might not be available either? Is this a big deal? I just looked at my 4XL and on Vodafone there is VoLTE option (it cannot be selected) but I have never experienced any problems with voice calls.

@lchiu7 when you make a voice call with your 4XL on Vodafone in a 4G zone does the indicator drop back to 3G/H+ or does it stay on 4G?

3G. So I guess if Voda decides to ditch the 3G network then I won't be able to make calls?

I got my pixel 6 Pro today. It's really good. A nice upgrade from the 5 but probably not worth the $1,200. The screen is really nice and the camera is fast. Overall a much snappier experience.

The dictation is quite amazing and probably the best new feature of the phone by a long way. I'm using it to write this message and it's flawless.

I bought a Pixel 6 128gb black from DSE NZ yesterday for $1,230.00. I expect it will be a good upgrade from the Pixel 2 XL I have been running since January 2018.

Free shipping (Christchurch) and no extra charges. Expected dispatch is 16 November.

I'm thinking of doing the same tbh, yes it has no 5G but then again my Pixel 2 XL battery last half a day xD

Vodafone 3G isn't going anywhere for the next few years. The issue is more that soon there will be ~450 RCG cellsites around the country and you will have no voice service on most of them.

If maintaining voice calling capability is critical to people they should not buy a non operator approved device without VoLTE support.

Received my Youshop/Amazon US order

Quick feedback on P6

- power button placement takes a while to get use

- fingerprint is slightly slower than my P30 Pro

- camera good

- can be slippery

- voice dictation is awesome even with my accent

- no VoLTE (on Spark)

mahdibassam:

Total cost was 1650 for the 512GB phone  + nest Speaker from JB AU, and 170 to get them both to NZ via DHL.

Did you have to pay GST on arrival? And if so how much? Thanks

You lucked out with the Youshop shipping here. Using those same numbers the Youshop the shipping cost comes $164.

Australian Google store is adding free Pixel buds with any Pixel 6 during Black Friday.

I have seen that also apparently JB HiFi AU is offer $200 voucher on phone trade + Money for trade in that can go towards Pixel 6.

The one time it sucks not to be part of Australia.

Hey ya.
I have a pixel 6 pro on the 2degrees network. I had no idea about VoLTE and wifi calling not working.

When I asked 2degrees they said as long as the bands are supported it will work.

I see Kogan allows their sim cards to work in NZ. Does anyone know if pixel 6 is supported on Kogans network?Kogan use Vodafone in NZ I think and telstras network in Aus.
If Kogans settings are loaded then this could be a back way into VoLTE.

Pretty sure this won't work, but I'm on Kogan Mobile - I'll happily test it (once I get my Pro), if someone else hasn't done so by then.
