I was hoping the camera would get a decent upgrade, but a quick look at reviews suggests the new model is still pretty mediocre.  Won't be rushing to replace our Ultra 6 devices which in terms of bang-for-buck I'm very happy with.

Mediatek CPU - I'm not sure I'm into that idea

Agreed but slightly faster so may net out as a positive? The Ultra 6 does tend to lag a little at times

Anyone has problem with the touch screen?

Mine bought in NOV last year, now the screen seems to be not very accurate for typing, such as you type T it will often return R.

Is it a fault?

Have a few in our fleet at work, and haven't had this issue.  Though some have complained of funny things happening - which have been fixed by removing/replacing a scratched up plastic screen protector!

Mine failed. It started 'auto tapping' for me, which was entertaining. I have no problem with typing accuracy with my phone before it failed, or its replacement, so I'd say you're experiencing a fault.

That is the problem I have found with all my android phones, they have these periods of lag. Gets worse as they age. That is why I have gone off android, as it really damages the user experience.

Is the battery replaceable by a service centre at all? Just wondering what happens if you need a new battery after a few years and you can't bear to part with the Smart Ultra:)

Anyone else aware of the Facebook app update issue that's freezing these ultra phones?

I just downloaded and sideloaded the previous version and both FB and Messenger working fine

Edit: Holding just just power button for 30 odd seconds reboots phone, uninstall latest FB and Messenger and phone behaves 100% again

Also having this.. Facebook was locking up, reinstalling didn't work, now I can't reinstall it or messenger, thought it might be because I was over in Aussie but guess not.

I guess I'll be taking the phone back and getting a refund after I land in NZ, A smartphone that can't run Facebook is clearly not fit for purpose!
