I turned off location services to disabled extended unlock. I locked and unlock the handset multiple times using different fingers to unlock and from 20+ tries it failed once which could well be down to me. This is promising but too early to say the temp fix works. The big will probably resurface as the Google Apps data builds.

It requires an update to the Google app, clearing of its cache and a reboot, in that order. Clearing the cache and rebooting may be required if the issue occurs. It's an issue with discover. Whatever that is.

I am a tad confused how the Google discover feed could affect the biometrics.

That's even more confusing as all other touch actions are ok. It must affect a very specific are of the touch screen.

Why do I feel that Samsung are not being entirely honest?

scottjpalmer: 1 April security update is available.

I hope it includes a fix for the finger print sensor bug that V6.1 installed
