I'm using FB version 86.0.0.13.69 and messenger version 81.0.0.15.78 and can confirm they work fine

Google facebook apk and you will find a number of sources, i used androidapksfree.com, there are risks in downloading and installing apps outside of the walled gardens of the play store so YMMV and do so at your own risk

My happy story

I have had the phone since April and think its really great value for money.

Unfortunately the home button stopped working and i could not get keyboard to use "p" button regularly.

So I returned the phone to Noel Leeming and after they sent it way for assessment it was replaced - no problems.

So I thought I'd give NL a pat on back

:-)

Jaxson: Anyone else aware of the Facebook app update issue that's freezing these ultra phones?

https://community.vodafone.co.nz/t5/Android-phones/Vodafone-Smart-Ultra-6-Apps-stop-working/m-p/202754

Saw a post on the Modaco forums that the issue has been resolved.  FB have updated their apps and they've sorted the freezing incompatibility and the apps are showing up as compatible again.

Anyone previously experiencing the problem on their ultra reinstalled FB successfully now?

Can I just say how awesome this phone is, for $200 I can get a phone, that looks great, is fast, has an amazing battery (went skiing from 8.30 in the morning with wifi, 3g, gps, and bluetooth on, streaming music the whole day, about 45min of screen time, 3 or 4 calls and at 4.30 still had 65% battery).  I have dropped it, knocked it, my 2 year plays with it.  Apart from the facebook issue (which has been resolved) it is incredible.  Maybe make it waterproof I don't know what you could do to make it better?

Could anyone with the Ultra 7 comment on the gps performance? Mediatek dont have a great reputation in that area. Specifically, if you place the phone outside and fire up Google Maps, does your indicated position remain fixed or does it tend to drift around? You need to test with Location set to GPS only.

Many thanks.

Can anyone recommend a decent glass screen protector for the phone?

Buy some from Aliexpress, will be less than $2, and you can get some spares. Not sure about quality but they do the job and are dirt cheap

Bought two of these for my kids last September and my son's has just stopped responding to the back button 2 weeks over the year. Noel Leeming said it was out of warranty but agreed to send it to Vodafone. It's come back unfixed with no documentation, so I'm assuming VF aren't interested. Can anyone comment on the VF warranty? I have found some Smart phones on the VF website with 2 years warranty but can't find the docs for Ultra 6.
