Heathsplosion: As my Nexus 6 was my first Android phone, and now my 6P... should arrive shortly... How do I migrate all my settings, apps, data, etc to the new phone?

Are you coming from an iPhone?

I believe the technology is called NFC - Near Field communication.
My upgrade from Nexus 5 to Nexus 6 required me to tap one against the other and within maybe a couple of minutes my new device was set up the same as the old one.
I hope to do the same with my 6P

It's a pretty cool set up process, very easy - note that (to my knowledge) this won't copy over data such as photos and music.

I will have to revert all app based authenticators back to email/text, and reset up work email and access tokens.

Take the opportunity to switch to Authy then. It syncs between mobile devices and Chrome desktop browser. Done.

mecow: I ordered at 9am on Friday morning and just got the tracking email. So don't think it is to do with order time?

And because my son and I have got our tracking emails I can say that they are not alphabetical either.

No - but I am starting my backup this afternoon.
I am not 100% sure but I think usernames, passwords and Wifi connections are also copied via NFC.

Got my email confirming track and trace number as well! Although the Courier Post site says number not found, I've found this to be the case with past orders also. Usually the delivery arrives before they update the site :)

Interestingly, the 2degrees email has a link to the Apple warranty site. Maybe recycled from the iPhone order and someone forgot to change the link? :P

I just called as I didn't hear anything, it seemed like I got lost in the system. Everything was done, but they hadn't triggered the shipment/fulfilment. So it's being sent now.

If you purchased over the phone on the 24 month plan, and you haven't heard from them, you may want to chase it up. I suspect they need to manually check that your $29 commitment payment has been made before manually triggering the shipment/fulfilment.

did you order yours on a plan or from the website?

I went into the local 2D store today at lunch to see if they had a demo and they said it hadn't arrived yet but there were supposed to be getting one.

CURRENT STATUS: Your item was picked up by our courier Kyle based at Airport Oaks.

Im guessing "Kyle" will not be delivering to the north shore. Geekzoners close to the airport are going to be the first hands on Im guessing. Lucky Ba****ds. :P
